sometimes I like to imagine Mac and Dennis finally dating but Dennis drives Mac so insane that Mac wishes he had never pursued Dennis in the first place. like one day Dennis is just like “ok. you want me to date you? I’ll fucking DATE YOU ALRIGHT” and from then on Mac’s life is a living hell because Reality Has Set In. Dennis rides his ass about literally everything. a complete nag. he withholds sex as a manipulation tactic. if Mac so much as glances at another man, he gets verbally assaulted for hours on end. suddenly Mac can’t leave the house without Dennis attached at his hip. and he goes to Charlie while Dennis is in the bathroom like “I can’t fucking take Dennis anymore please make it stop” and Charlie is like “good fucking luck bro. you asked for this. no one has sympathy for you” and Mac tries to devise a plan to ~break up~ with Dennis but he quickly realizes he’s spent his whole life pining after this asshole and there may be a Before Dennis but there is no After Dennis. they’re stuck together forever. unhappily ever after.
