What you need to prepare a bootable Lion USB on a PC
Disclaimer: It is not legal to install OSX on hardware other than Apple's own. Please note that this tutorial is for educational purposes only. Plus, it's fun to try something new :P
What you need:
1. iATKOS_L2.dmg - Modified OSX Lion (10.7.2) installation media, with necessary drivers to enable booting and installation on PC.
2. dmg2img-1.6.2-win32.zip - Utility to convert a dmg (mac format) disc image, to the more popular iso format. This is for better compatibility in a virtual machine.
3. Virtual Box for Windows host - Software to run a virtual copy of Mac OSX. This is necessary to prepare a bootable USB medium for installation on actual PC hardware.
4. Windows PC with Core i5 - Faster processor needed to run a virtual Macintosh guest for preparing bootable USB.
5. One 8GB pendrive - To restore the iATKOS_L2.dmg (NOT the iso) disk image, for booting on a PC.
These are the must haves for creating just the bootable Lion installation media. No links will be posted on this blog. However, file names have been used for easier google search. Acquire these, and wait for the next post. All the best, Au Revoir.
