FOR THE FIRST TIME (Skip One shot for Mackenzie)
I was sitting on the porch step to my house after my first fight with my boyfriend of three months, Skip. I was in tears and so was he as he walked away, he’s never walked away from me before. I felt so shitty right now, and the worst part was our fight was about the stupidest thing, he didn’t call me when he left the Brooks’ house, he just showed up at mine. I was upset because I was surprising him with a romantic night, and I didn’t have time to finish it before he showed up. I yelled at him but I didn’t tell him why, if I had just said why, he wouldn’t have left. I had stood up and went inside to put away the items I had set out when I looked down the street in the way he left, I saw his shadowy figure standing in the middle of the street a few houses down facing my direction. I tore my eyes off of him and went to walk into my house.
“MACKENZIE!” I heard him scream and my head whipped around to see him running towards me, he ran up to me and pulled me into his arms. “Babe, look I am so sorry I didn’t call but this is ridiculous we shouldn’t be fighting over this.”
“I know Daniel, it’s just I had this big surprise and I thought you showing up early would ruin it and I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have been so stupid please forgive me?” I begged looking into those loving eyes filled with tears still freely falling. He stroked my face and lightly kissed my lips.
“Of course, and you have a surprise?” he smiled through the tears on his face and I snuggled into his chest.
“Yeah, um, about that, it isn’t done yet.” I giggled a little.
“Well we can still salvage this night want to go finish it while I wait out here?” he asked and kissed my nose.
“Yeah but no peeking.” I smiled, I was glad he forgave me, I mean it was a stupid fight but I did blow up in his face for no reason. I ran inside and into the kitchen. “SHIT!” I yelled because I had left the noodles on to boil too long and they were boiling over and too mushy to eat. I drained them and threw them out starting to boil a new box, and stirred the spaghetti sauce and added the already cooked meatballs. I finished dinner and set it up on the table lit the candles and I ran in the bathroom I had my clothes in and changed into a faded red colored dress with white polka dots and black shoes. I ran out to the porch where Daniel sat waiting, “It’s ready.” I smiled at him and when he looked at me his face lit up and a smirk played on his lips. He walked up and placed his hands on my hips.
“You look stunning, Mackenzie.” I blushed.
“Thank you now lets go eat.” I smiled and pulled him into my house. We ate dinner and laughed, forgetting the meaningless fight that occurred earlier. We had just finished and I had just set out our dessert to share, and I fed him a bite. I had gotten some on his nose, we both laughed and I kissed it off.
“I love you Mackenzie,” he whispered and my breath hitched, his face turned to shock, I know it slipped out.
“I love you too Daniel.” I whispered back and kissed his lips, his hands found my hips as mine found his hair. We were proving to each other that the words we had just said for the first time were true.
