I just remembered that when I watched Top Gun: Maverick, I didnt realize it was Iceman who Maverick was talking to in that scene cause well, tg:m was filmed 30ish years after the original one and I somehow didnt realize Val Kilmer. And so i thought Mav was talking to some random gramps there, and did not realize it was Ice till the funeral scene when it hit me: Ice is DEAD??? That was a fun realization to say the least.
the biggest plot hole in mi:2 was when ethan wore the mask of ambrose's blonde assistant guy (forgot his name) near the end of the movie, how did ambrose not notice that his friend suddenly got much shorter?

i first watched it in like may 2024 (tgm came shortly after) and the hyperfixation? special interest? (at this point i have no clue tbh) came like right after. now im in so deep that i think about both movies at least 10 times every day
