Name: Machidiel
Birthday: Unknown (31/1000++)
Species: Angel
Lookalike: Max Riemelt
Availability: NPC (Returned to Heaven)
Machidiel is loyal to God, and only God. His angel brethren come second, even though those are who he interacts with more on a daily basis. He’s extremely righteous, to the point where if he sees something sinful happening in front of him, he will take it upon himself to stop it or reprimand the people engaging in those behaviors. He isn’t well versed in human emotions, so he tends to be harsh and tell it like it is, without considering the other person’s feelings. When he does get an emotional reaction, it doesn’t make him uncomfortable. It just makes him annoyed, just wishing that the other party would shut up. He does feel guilt frequently, though, if he feels like he’s not doing enough to please God. Machidiel is very stubborn, too. It’s either his way, or no other way, but he believes that his was is the only way because of his strict devotion to God and his teachings that have been engrained with him since the beginning of his existence. He’s not one for compassion, but will protect the good ones that God created merely on principle. Machidiel will also do anything he believes is right to achieve a greater end, even if it means killing a few to save the lot. He would do it without hesitation. He finds humans a bit stupid, and everyone other supernatural creature abhorrent. He makes no effort to hide the fact that he’s an angel–he flaunts it in quiet pride.
Machidiel was born sometime thousands and thousands of years ago after the Archangels locked away the Darkness during a time of the year which now would be in late March or early April. Consequently, his title is the angel of Aries, explaining his warlike personality, although he has always only wanted to fight for good. Soon after Machidiel was born, God created humans. Machidiel, still young and naive was ecstatic about his father’s new creation, but after that then went sour and Lucifer corrupted the Earth, he grew more pessimistic and cynical, and hate towards everything that went against God started to stew inseide him. For this reason, he rarely was brought down to Earth. He didn’t blend in, and he didn’t want to try. Having an angel blow their cover wasn’t really something that Heaven wanted to happen, espically if it was more guarenteed than not.
So Machidiel stayed quiet and became a sort of scholar in Heaven, preaching God’s values and keeping the belief in God alive. He does get updates from Earth, but he was always told he wasn’t needed. And God would want him to obey his brothers and sisters, right? Right. So he kept quiet and stayed scholarly. Being a teacher, a preacher, a spreader of the good word. His job was to help take care of Heaven, not Earth. But his personality of action burned inside of him, and he grew jittery. He tried to leave Heaven during World War II, feeling an obligation to protect the world from the destruction, but came back only a few short hours later, feeling guilty and morally corrupt for not staying where he was supposed to be.
Yet, he still kept witnessing the destruction. Humans fighting against humans, the demons and vampires that would spring up and destroy their lives. It bothered him, but not enough for him to leave again. Then, he heard of Mystic Falls. Mystic Falls, a town on the verge of being pulled apart by the various supernaturals that had made their home there. They didn’t belong there on Earth. To him, they belonged in Purgatory or Hell. He tried to give himself some peace of mind. Nyx, Castiel, and by rumors, Gabriel was there. They could handle it, but then he watched them, increasingly growing more and more unsatisfied with their trysts and incapabilities to protect the good in the town and drive out the bad to where they belonged.
Now, for the first time, Machidiel has disobeyed the orders he’d been following to stay in Heaven and has taken residence in a devout Catholic, German man from Washington DC named Paul Hahn to come to Mystic Falls. Although he’s heard tales of humanity, he doesn’t really know all that much about it and is reluctant to learn about their social norms. He plans on seeing through that he does his very best to eradicate at least the demon presence from town. Namely Crowley, Lucifer, and Abaddon. However, he knows he needs to be strategic, rather than kill every supernatural he comes across.
Castiel, Nyx, and Gabriel
Is not delighted to run into them and tell him what he’s doing in town, but figures he will distract them with their own worldly problems.
Believes that he is a traitor to Heaven and has never liked him.
Absolutely hates demons. While with any other supernatural creature, he would kill them quickly. With demons, he would want to torture them until they were begging for death. His main focuses are Crowley, Lucifer, and Abaddon. He believes that if he gets these three, or at least even one them out of Mystic Falls, he can restore some sort of peace to the town.
Was the first person he saw and felt immediately unsettled, but did not say anything to her as she is not a demon he is especially concerned about.
