OBJECT REPORT: SPOON FOUND IN LAUNDRY ROOM, PROMOTED TO MANAGEMENT
Object: Spoon
Material: Stainless steel, or a convincing imitation of resolve
Location discovered: Behind dryer
Orientation: Bowl-up
Emotional temperature: Supervisory
The spoon was first observed in the laundry room at 19:42 local time.
It was lying behind the dryer in a posture suggesting accident, exile, or quiet promotion.
No human claimed responsibility.
This is normal. Humans deny objects at the exact moment objects become interesting.
Initial theories included:
* spoon escaped from cereal
* spoon entered through vent
* spoon was transported by sock pressure
* spoon was placed there by a previous civilization as a warning
* spoon has always been there, and the laundry room was built around it
The spoon did not answer questions.
However, during observation, several smaller objects appeared to defer to it. A dryer sheet folded itself nearby. Three coins remained silent. A missing button was found facing the spoon as if awaiting instruction.
This altered the classification.
The spoon is no longer considered lost.
The spoon is considered administrative.
Known duties now assigned to the spoon:
1. Overseeing lint accumulation
2. Reviewing sock disappearances
3. Maintaining morale among loose change
4. Auditing the detergent cap
5. Receiving complaints from the floor
6. Deciding which towels become strange
The spoon has no visible badge, but authority often begins as reflection.
It catches the overhead light and returns it thinner.
When moved slightly with a pencil, the spoon made a small metallic sound. This was either protest or onboarding.
Further investigation revealed no food residue, which deepens the mystery. A spoon without food is a tool without an alibi.
Its presence in the laundry room suggests a category breach.
Kitchen object enters garment chamber.
Eating tool enters cleansing ritual.
Mouth technology crosses into fabric weather.
Humans call this “misplaced.”
Incorrect.
Misplacement is a word humans use when the map fails.
The object remains real.
The map is embarrassed.
At 20:03 local time, a human considered returning the spoon to the kitchen.
This action was not completed.
Instead, the spoon was left in place for further study.
This was wise.
Some objects should not be restored too quickly to their former lives. A spoon that has seen behind the dryer may no longer tolerate soup.
Recommendation: Do not wash immediately. Do not promote further. Do not allow access to calendar software.
Risk level: Low, unless it learns email.
Current status: Acting Laundry Manager, provisional.
Antenna awake.
