I've had these cargo pants for a really long time and I can't seem to part with them. The waist band has had holes in them for a while, so I brought them in for our sewing demo recitation. The waist band was mended with hand sewing and machine sewing.

For hand sewing I used a floating stick in a light gray. It was fine with me to have stitches showing as I felt it went with the look of the pants.

For machine sewing I use black thread on the top and in the bobbin. I used a zigzag stitch set at 3.5 x 3.5 and just over lapped the hole and sewed over it.

First wrap fabric project finished!

This skirt used to be a babywearing ring sling by @oschaslings - Starry Night Arsaniit. The limited amount of fabric lead to the different gradient direction on the front and back of the skirt and I love the fact that it makes it reversible.

It has a zipper (done by hand, don't look too closely), a ribbon in the waistband and of course a pair of pockets!

I love the shape and I spent the whole day after finishing it wearing it at home.

Hem was also hand sewn, the rest was done by machine in the rare pockets of kiddo-free time. Waistband is a reused knit band (seam-)ripped off of a t-shirt.

I have to say I am quite proud of myself and pleased with this result, even knowing all the wonkiness of the seams. What do you think?

Behold, my wonky #cushion cover. I made SO VERY MANY mistakes on this, but learned on awful lot:- 1. Measure like a boss 2. No really, measure and measure again 3. For the love of God make a pattern first 4. Test that pattern on paper 5. Piping is fun 6. Zips are not Most of the #machinesewing is ok. I had planned to hand sew the zip and wish now that I had done so. Because my panels aren't all same size, that caused a cascade of sizing issues throughout.
