The best part about turning eighteen, if you were to ask Mackenzie Grady, is that her parents could no longer control her. And if she wanted to take a gap year to live on Isla Nublar with her brother Owen, well, she would. Summer was incredible; she got to run some tours, hang out at the different exhibits whenever she wanted, even see the labs. Fall was even better; she had finally shed the name Mackenzie, was known almost exclusively as "Grady" or "Baby Grady", and she even got to help out with the exhibits. So when winter rolled around, and Claire Dearing asked her to "hang out with" her nephews while they visited, she was beyond excited--until her home turned into a war zone and she was fighting for her life against the animals she'd grown to love.
