Mackenzie was my first ever route to play through on Lovestruck, and for that she (and Havenfall as a whole) will always have a special place in my heart <3

The Queen and the Witch AU

Instead of becoming a werewolf, Mackenzie's bite awakens Hecate, goddess of magic, witchcraft, and the moon, slumbering within HavenfallMC. In New York, AstoriaMC is revealed to be the reincarnation of Hera, Queen of the gods, goddess of marriage, and wife of Zeus. Both are kidnapped and brought to Olympus to have the goddesses be awakened, whether the mortals and said goddesses want it or not. Mackenzie and Annabelle rush to New York to save their girl, and end-up teaming up with the monster Medusa and demigod Alex Cyprin who also want to rescue their own girlfriend. Together, they storm Olympus, interrupting the ritual. When Zeus tries to harm their respective partners, HavenfallMC and AstoriaMC react, and Hera and Hecate answer their desperate calls, and together the Queen and the Witch bring the King of Olympus to heel.

This AU came to me while I was alternating between watching Havenfall routes and looking up minor greek gods and goddesses while being bored and I came across Hecate. I thought how tied Hecate was to the supernatural, being a goddess of magic and witchcraft and the moon. Havenfall practically has all of that in every route, and then the idea of HF!MC being Hecate's reincarnation came to be. So. Yeah. New AU. Honestly I think I might do a second version where HF!MC and Astoria!MC break out of Olympus before their lovers could save them, and quickly escape New York while being in pursuit by the gods and their respective lovers.

i'm not a particularly creative person but still want to participate in @lovestruck-week

day 1: first route/li

my first route was everyone's favorite werewolf: mackenzie hunt

just some context for when i started her route: i was a dumb gay 18 year old, searching the internet for something to cure my boredom. i always liked romance but lots of stuff geared towards queer people (especially in the 2010s) was too focused on 'the queer experience' for my taste.

mac's route was such a breath of fresh air for me because she and mc were just allowed to be queer in their story rather than have their story focus on the struggles of queer people. also, werewolves. watching them grow over the course of ten seasons was really emotional for me.

outside of the romance i fell in love with the story and characters. havenfall's finest is still one of my favorite casts of any story, and i miss them all every day.
