Part 2 of Violet Rivers rambles pt 1
This time with stuff about a witch and a unicorn!!!
There is a unicorn in the woods. You know this. Her name is Seridia. She had been living in the forest next to the two towns for hundreds upon thousands of years. She loved to watch the towns, helping them in small ways. It was dangerous for a unicorn to make herself known, but she risked it anyway. A unicorn could never let someone suffer, it's just not right. She'd guide lost children and animals back to their homes, be there to give advice and comfort someone in despair, add a little bit of magic and light to make them all happy when everything seemed bleak.
In Eldenshire, there is a witch, her name is Lorelei. Lorelei is very good at what she does. She's confident in her magic, moves through spells with grace and elegance. She specializes in a few things; enchantments and curses. She is also,, fantastic at crying. I'm sure you can see where this is going.
Lorelei knew of Seridia's presence, she could feel it on the edge of the forest, but whenever she sent anyone to explore, there was never any sign of her. Unicorn magic is a powerful thing, a witch's magic is built upon it. Unicorn magic fuels the planet, it breathes life into every little thing there is. She needs Seridia and her magic, part of her job is taking care of unicorns for the witches in Zhephus (the capital, don't worry about it). But no matter what she did, or who she sent, they just couldn't find the unicorn!! So, Lorelei tries something new,,
She sits on the edge of the forest, and cries. It's rather easy to make oneself cry, if you know what to think about. She thought about school, someone she used to know. She thought about how frustrating it is to have an incompetent apprentice. She thought about how familiar those two things seem to be. While her mood wasn't quite right, more frustrated and angry than sad, it worked! Seridia had come out, under some kind of illusion any talented witch can see through. But the image made her more angry regardless. Seridia sat beside Lorelei, she may not trust a witch, but it is her duty to help.
Lorelei, an embarrassingly ugly crier, wipes her tears with a hand and touches Seridia's hoof with the whisper of a spell. She knew she wouldn't be able to catch Seridia like this right away. A unicorn is far too smart for that. She had to make her weak first, she had to take away her hiding place, she had to make the world think she wasn't a unicorn. Lorelei watches Seridia flee. She should reward herself after all of that hard work. She's earned it.
