(from butchtwelfthdoctor)
Twissy:
Thasmin:
They both drive me insane for different reasons. Thasmin in particular BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO GOOD. YAZ SPENT A YEAR TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO GET BACK TO HER. THIRTEEN IS AN EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED DUMBASS. THE DRAMA THE INSANITY THE WEIRDNESS IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO GOOD. SO SO GOOD. Instead we only got fucking CRUMBS (yeah by where is all the content I mean where is the canon content they NEED more)
🖤💚🤍 for any media you like :]
I might mix and match media here because I have some hot takes actually.
🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?
So this is gonna be a Hellraiser one because I HATE when people make Pinhead/Elliot Spencer not a bit of a bastard (maybe it's just because I hate the fluffy domestic Pinsty stuff but I digress). Like the cenobites Do Not Care About You they can and will take you no matter what. Chatterer was a CHILD when he became a cenobite. Not to mention the servants of Leviathan who are human who we see (Julia and Dr. Channard) are godawful human beings. I cannot STAND nice Elliot Spencer, and I much prefer the Boom! comics version of him where he's a horrendous piece of shit when compared to what he was in Hellraiser III.
💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?
Okay Doctor Who for this one, but I see this interpretation of Donna in a lot of fanfics where she's just like...not all that into the adventuring thing and the dangerous aspects of traveling with the Doctor, or is always the braincell and it's like, she is SO into that shit she hunted the Doctor down so she COULD do more batshit insane things. And yeah she's very smart in areas the Doctor is just not, but she is just as much a feral dumbass as he is and I feel like some people don't acknowledge that as much as they should.
Also, as much as I love fics of these two being very okay with cuddling and stuff and as much as I personally like writing it, I firmly believe in canon Donna would punch Ten right in the nuts before she would let him share her bed, except under some extenuating circumstances. 14 would stand a better chance of getting nighttime cuddles, but literally only because Donna and Shaun have a strong marriage and Donna knows Shaun won't be jealous. She would hit him if he crawled into bed with her and Shaun though.
🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
For this one I'm gonna do a Buffy the Vampire Slayer opinion because there's a dedicated section of the fandom that just LOATHES Giles and Joyce Summers and it bugs the hell out of me. Did they both fuck up with Buffy? Yeah, they did, undeniably so, but like Giles spent his ENTIRE life being indoctrinated into this organization that sees Slayers as nothing but a tool, and he does the best that he can. Giles ends up in a paternal role very much by accident and considering how all the men in his life acted, I'm sure he didn't know quite HOW to fill that father role for Buffy. It's like with Wesley and his misogynistic tendencies: they were beaten into him from the start, and it takes a LOT of work to overcome some of that stuff.
Joyce is a single mother and for a lot of her time on the show she really does just think Buffy is acting out, and she has no idea what's going on in Buffy's life because Buffy literally can't tell her, so I can see where the difficulties in parenting Buffy come from. Buffy is a good person and we as the audience know that, but Joyce doesn't see WHY she does what she does, and it's hard to sympathize as a parent when you don't understand why your child is acting out or doing delinquent things like getting into fights and sneaking out and putting herself in danger. But she goes to bat for Buffy multiple times and really does genuinely try to understand and help her daughter.
Joyce and Giles are only human and human beings make mistakes, it's what happens. But they really did try.
