Navigating with You is OUT NOW!
Hey Tumblrinos!
So I've been working on this book for years and talking about it for months and now it's finally time for you to go get it! That's right, Navigating with You is out today from @madcavestudios and you can buy it wherever you buy books! Or, find your online retailer of choice here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Navigating-With-You/Jeremy-Whitley/9781952303609
Navigating with You is the story of two new girls in school, thrown together by chaos in their lives that caused them to both move to North Carolina from their homes in New York and Florida. They quickly discover that they share a passion of a manga series they were into in middle school, but that neither of them have finished. They decide to form a book club and read them together. There's only one problem, neither of them have their copies and it turns out they are out of print. So now Neesha and Gabby must go on a quest all around North Carolina to find the books in the series. As they do, they become best friends and, eventually, much more than friends.
Navigating with You is a queer romance with two women of color as leads. In addition to that, Neesha has cerebral palsy and is trying to navigate this new life without picking up some of the old issues she had with how she was treated by her classmates. While Gabby has some deep trauma that she's still learning how to cope with.
It's a story about love, fandom, the intersection of the two, and finding that someone who really gets you and can help you navigate through all the things life throws at you, together.
The adventures of this underrated sci-fi movie favorite will continue in a brand new series from Mad Cave.
I have always wanted to see a sequel to the Last Star Fighter hopefully if the comic is successful it could lead to a film adaptation heres hoping .
Of course this is a return to the comic book format for The last Starfighter
The comic book adaptation of the movie The Last Starfighter was a three-issue limited series published by Marvel Comics in 1984, coinciding with the film's release.
The series ran from October 1984 to December 1984. The script was by Bill Mantlo with art by Brett Blevins and Tony Salmons.
Update
The first comic in the 4 issue sequel series popped through my letterbox at the weekend here is a picture of the cover.
I tried ordering it through the Mad Cave comic website but they don't ship to the UK So if you want a copy go to the Forbidden Planet comic store website like I did you can order it there here is the link
The long-awaited sequel to the beloved film! Small town teenager Alex Rogan has already saved multiple worlds. But that was only the beginni
I wanna preface this by saying I don't have issue with the art (I actually thought the Sherwood one was pretty cool) but this is something I've noticed more than once, for whatever reason the art is super artifact-ie (they remind me of the super crunch old punisher MAX scans I'd read lol) but the lettering and word bubbles are super clean, if they don't look that bad to you click to enlarge em I promise they're deep fried lol
I'd love to know if anyone has any theories on these, they're official digital releases (and you can tell from the speech bubbles these are in some way high quality), do you think its an issue with how the artists exported it? or how the letterer imported it? maybe something in incompatible file types between programs? I feel like the breakdown has to be between finished art and lettering but it of course begs the questions of did no one check it? did it not look like this for the letterer?
