How to Read a Seven-day Candle
Clear or Little Fog
This is a sign of little to no issue when it comes to spell work. If there is a little white fog, don’t worry too much about it. This means that at one point there was a blockage, but the pathway is now open.
Black Smoke on One Quarter or Half of Jar
If the black smoke clears by the time it gets to the middle of the candle, don’t be too concerned. Yes, there was a blockage that took a little more work to clear. If you’re uncertain if the spell worked, burn another candle and compare it to the last one. If the smoke line is too crisp and clean, the candle may be chemically altered.
Black Smoke on Most or All of Jar
A candle with mostly black smoke is not a good sign. This is a sign of incomplete spell work and there may be outside forces working against you. If this occurs, open the windows in your home and burn a little sage before attempting to burn another candle. Beware of chemically altered candles. If you're buying all of your candles from the same manufacturer and the pattern of smoke is always consistent, the candles may be chemically altered.
Broken Jar
A broken candle jar may or may not be a sign you should be concerned with. If there’s a crack at the top, it may be a manufacturer defect. If the crack appears at the middle and bottom of the candle, it’s time to cleanse and burn another candle.
