Rant number 1!

Oh gosh. Oh gee. I really hate axolotl food that isnt earthworms! I understand that unless you have a garden or worm farm its near impossible to have worms at all, let alone the yummy kind. But im just really frustrated at the alternatives here! The next best thing in my mind is the frozen 'axolotl' food that comes in the blister packs. But even then it doesnt fill them up and they dont seem to enjoy it - even spitting it out and leaving it, something id never seen them do with worms. Bloodworms are pretty top for the little tykes, but for monsters like my kids they are just baby snacks. And why oh why do all the pet stores iv come across feed them either mealworms or crickets, both are terrible! I mean, if you wont change their diet for their sake (which is really the primary concern here) then at least for the sake of the tank they are in when they finally poop - chitin explosion everywhere!! Not fun. Beef/ox/real meat? Forget it, bad things happen down the road. And i dont even want to think about how those dry pellets you can get even go down their little throats. Yeesh. Im just very mad and frustrated as there really is nothing out there quite as good as worms!
