Some snail keepers hunt for their snails every week and put them in their food dish to make sure they don't miss meals, especially protein meals. I've never done that, because I figure if they don't want to be disturbed that's mostly their business, and with multiple food sources in the enclosure they'll find enough nutrition on their own.
But I'm just so lost right now without a high maintenance elderly cat or a hamster to take care of!! There are so many hours in a day without animal tasks now and it's making me lose what little grip on pandemic reality I ever had!! I need animal distractions!!
Sooo today I dug up all my snails for a nice meal of butternut squash and bloodworms on a plate of chard from the garden! I'm not sure they enjoyed being found and placed on the food dish or want me to make this a regular thing... we all just need a hamster for me to adopt and be distracted by to show up in a local shelter!
