Meet Captain Madden Smith of Starbase 80. Both September 25 2348, Smith served just under three years on the USS Enterprise D; he was then transferred to the USS Eagle, charged with dealing with a strange new threat. The Eagle was destroyed in August of 2370 and all crew was presumed dead. After a strange turn of events, however, Smith was rescued along with a few other surviving crew members from captivity on a planet far on the edge of known space. After much investigation into the incident and a long recovery period, Smith was rewarded for his valor on the Eagle with a promotion. As a brand new captain, he was assigned to Starbase 80—a formerly abandoned Romulan station that happens to be face to face with the entity responsible for his captivity. From this point forward, Smith’s mission became preventing this entity from carrying out its sinister plans against the quadrant.
