@bravinto​ tagged me in the 5 favorite fics I’ve written meme! It feels weird whittling it down to 5 (none of these fics are ones I’ve written in the past year, which somewhat concerns me), but this is probably a good representation of the fics that are closest to my heart.

1. Magic and Progress Do Not Speak as Loud as My Heart (Pacific Rim). I’ll always love this fic. It was the first Pacific Rim fic I wrote, it was the first long fic I’d ever written, and it remains my second-longest fic to this day. It was also my introduction into a fandom that is very dear to my heart. I don’t know, it just means a lot to me.

2. It’s All in the Hands of a Lazy Projector (Pacific Rim). This is probably the fic of mine that people reread the most, and I’m not 100% sure why? It started out because I wanted to write something about memory, and it evolved into a kind of fairy tale AU. I do like it quite a bit though, and it’s definitely one of my best received fics.

3. Matchsnaking, because, well, it’s cute and I like it. Sometimes it’s that simple.

4. I Decided This (Daredevil). There are certain fics where you finish writing them and realize that you’ve finally leveled up in terms of skill. That’s how I felt after writing this. I’m also very fond of the fics where, through writing them, I realized something important about a character, and this fic certainly made me work through what drives Matt.

5. I Sat and Dreamed at the Foot of Your Bed (Daredevil). It was the longest and most plot-heavy fic I’d ever written, and finishing it felt like such an accomplishment. It has all my favorite things--exploring characters through an AU setting, world building, HEISTS--and, like I Decided This, made me realize I was a good enough writer to pull off whatever fic I wanted to write.

Honorable mention to I Blame the Adrenaline (Daredevil) because it’s beautifully self-indulgent and that alone makes it a favorite.

for the writer meme thing i would be so psyched to read something original from you if that's something you'd ever do bc you're so wildly good at worldbuilding and characterization and i think you'd do really great stuff (tbh i would be happy to read anything you did but i don't think that's the point of the meme haha)

Oh thank you! ☺️❤ For some reason I have never felt like I’m very good at original writing (as opposed to fic). Something about building a character from the ground up intimidates me. Although, I’ve been finding it a bit less daunting lately thanks to d&d character building, so maybe there’s original work in me after all. If I ever write something original, I’ll let you know!

originally when i did this for people, i thought of you as a wizard of the school of evocation, lots of elemental based magic, but with your own vibe i could see you as a druid too - i like the idea of a druid if the coast like you said to bee :) oh, and neutral good x

I originally thought of myself as a wizard too, but now I’m pretty split between being that or druid (which is odd in a way, because druid is one of those classes I’d never paid much mind to). Either way, I’ll have the elemental magic down 😎 and yes, I am very much a neutral good :)
