poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 812 words
You’ve forgotten your sandwich again. It stays suspended in the air, halfway between your mouth and your plate, while you stare at the coffee table like there’s a riddle in the scratches on the wood.
“Sweetheart,” Sirius prompts you. You look over at him, lost, and he nods to your sandwich. “Are you full?”
“Oh.” You shake your head. “No.”
You take another bite and press your lips together hard as you chew. Sirius worries you might cry again. It’s been on and off tears since they nabbed you from Marlene’s and if your aim was to cut through Sirius’ anger about you going when you shouldn’t have, you’ve done it thoroughly. He feels like he’s being cleaved open with each one that rolls down your cheek.
“Does the paracetamol feel like it’s working?” Remus asks you.
You nod, swallowing.
Remus repositions himself in the arm chair, propping his chin on his hand with a sigh. James stops midway between the bathroom and the sitting room, his hair wet from the shower.
“Uh oh,” he says. “Are we talking?”
“We’re talking,” Remus confirms.
James makes a face but sits down. His knee immediately begins bouncing.
As ready as Sirius was to tear into you earlier, he feels for you too. You look into your lap as you pull the sleeves of Remus’ jumper over your fingers, waiting for someone to start.
“Dove,” Remus sounds exhausted with this already, “you knew why going to that party was a bad idea for you.”
“Yeah,” you say quietly.
“Then why did you?”
You’re picking apart the knit of Remus’ sleeve. Sirius takes your hands in his, stopping you. Your eyes linger on them. “It’s Marlene’s birthday,” you say. “She’s my friend.”
“She is your friend, angel,” James says gently. “Do you think she really would have cared if you’d missed her party if she knew how awful it was for you to be there?”
You look like you’re chewing the inside of your lip. “It wasn’t awful.”
“You got sick on the drive home,” Sirius reminds you. Okay, it’s possible he’s still a little angry. “Do you mean to tell me that was the result of you having a good time?”
He immediately feels like shit when your expression twinges painfully.
“I know you wanted to be there for Marlene,” Remus cuts in, “and to make her happy, but I don’t think it was worth making yourself miserable.” His voice is calm. Sirius doesn’t know how he does it; Remus was the most upset when they learned you’d gone to the party, but somehow he manages to keep his tone gentle, his expression kind as he talks you through the fallacies in your own reasoning. “You need to be more considerate of yourself, dove.”
“You are a considerate person,” James says. “We love that about you, sweetheart. You’re kind, and you’re always thinking about everyone else, it’s just that sometimes you think about them too much. Marlene getting to see you at her party, versus you getting the rest you need to keep your concussion from getting worse…” He mimes a scale with his hands, making a face. “It’s not a very fair trade-off, yeah?”
You nod but don’t speak. Your eyes are on your lap, and when Sirius dips his head to try and see you better, your lips are a harsh, tortured line. He squeezes your hands.
“Yeah,” you say, your voice thin.
Remus makes a soft sound, reaching for you. “Come here, babydove.”
You join him in his chair and Sirius sees his boyfriend’s worry finally dissipating as he mushes brief, ardent kisses into your hair. James smiles softly.
“You’re alright,” Remus promises, voice muffled from how his lips are stuck to your head. He rubs up and down your back firmly while you hide your face in his chest. “We just want you to understand. So you don’t do it again.”
“I know.” Your voice sounds fragmented, and it’s like ice picks through Sirius’ chest. “Sorry, it’s not you guys, I just—” You take a stilted breath. James moves to perch on the arm of Remus’ chair so he can squeeze your shoulder. “I just really don’t feel well.”
“Oh, I know.” Remus rests his forehead on top of yours. “I’m sorry.”
“Do you feel like you could be sick again, baby?” Sirius asks. When you shake your head, he stands. “Then let’s go to bed, yeah? Do you feel sufficiently lectured?”
Your shoulders give a little shake, and though he already suspects it’s from laughter, James’ grin confirms it.
“Do you want us to keep Remus away from you?” James teases, giving your shoulder another squeeze. “Would that make you feel better?”
“Yes,” you say, while winding your arms around Remus’ waist.
Remus doesn’t even feign offense. Only cups the back of your head and mushes another kiss into your hair.

You’re squished between Sirius and James, the two people here least likely to allow you space to breathe. James has got you half in his lap, his arm around your waist and one of your thighs over his, while Sirius’ shoulder pushes into yours, his legs cast over the arm of his couch so he can kick gently at Remus when the urge strikes him.
“Her coworker hates me,” James says.
“He does not.” You roll your eyes. This is a topic you’ve been over before. “Art likes you just fine.”
“Does too!” He pinches your waist. “It’s because he’s in love with you.”
You fight the urge to hide your face in his side. “He is not.”
James laughs. “He is, sweetheart. You just can’t see it.”
“You would hardly know, would you?” Sirius agrees, but he agrees with James on everything. You’re fairly sure that if James said the moon was green, Sirius would swear the same until his dying breath. “You didn’t know our Jamesie liked you until he practically confessed.”
“I still doubt it sometimes,” you mutter, earning you another teasing pinch from your boyfriend.
“Hold on,” says Lily, “she’s the one who works with him.”
Remus nods. While Sirius always agrees with James, Remus always disagrees with the both of them. You suspect this is mostly because he enjoys getting them riled up. “Exactly. I think y/n has had plenty more time to figure out if he has feelings than you have, James.”
“He used to walk her home after every shift,” James argues.
“Because he’s nice,” you sigh.
“Nice to you, you mean.”
“It’s very normal to walk girls home from late shifts.”
Remus hums. “Have you considered, James, that maybe because you’ve never worked in the service industry, there are norms you don’t understand?” His tone is smug. Sirius kicks his foot at him lazily.
James’ eyebrows rise above the frames of his glasses. “Have you considered,” he waves his free hand in your direction, “look at her?”
Your face heats something atrocious. Sirius tsks. “He’s got you there, darling.”
“Hush,” you say to James, though you can’t manage to infuse your voice with any sternness. “You’re the only one that thinks that.”
“Nope,” he replies, popping the p. “Actually, it’s me and Art and every other seeing person on the planet. Sorry, sweetheart.”
You’re not sure if he’s apologizing sardonically or genuinely, for the pain his compliments are causing you. A big hand cups the side of your head, bringing you closer so he can kiss your hair.
It doesn’t pacify you. “You’re awful,” you say, slipping out from between him and Sirius so his friend nearly falls sideways onto James’ lap. “I’m going to get some water, does anyone want anything?”
Lily and Remus say no, Sirius asks for a cider, and James is noticeably silent. You can’t say you’re surprised when he comes into the kitchen behind you.
He gives you a sheepish look. You don’t believe it even a little. “Have I scared you off?”
You go to Sirius and Remus’ fridge, grabbing the cider for Sirius. “No.”
“But I embarrassed you.” James wraps his arms around your middle, smushing his lips to your hairline. “M’sorry, lovely.”
“Don’t,” you say, though you’re far from pulling out of his embrace. “It takes more than that to scare me off.”
“Yeah?” You can hear the teasing slip into his voice, and that scares you more than it should. “Good. Because you’re gonna have to get used to it, you know. I don’t plan on toning down how lovely you are just because you might get shy on me.”
You tilt your head back to see him. “You’re insufferable.”
“So you’re always telling me.” James’ grin is huge. He drops a kiss on the bridge of your nose. “You’re lovely, and I’m insufferable. How’s that fair?”
“Dunno.” You kiss his chin in return. Fill your cup with water and brush past him out the kitchen. “Suppose you’ll have to get use to it.”
It’s impossible not to smile when his laughter sounds behind you.
it would also be alright if it’s just the first one if ever you don’t feel like writing with two of them in mind !

“Do we need eggs?” Remus asks from the other room.
“I don’t think so.” You zip the dress up in the back, relishing in the smooth feel of the fabric on your skin. It fits like it was made for you. “I’m not feeling very eggy lately. Our last ones went bad.” You smile at yourself in the mirror, going to show Remus.
“It just feels strange not to have eggs…” he trails off as you come into view. It’s not your appearance that surprises him—you’ve been showing off your finds from the flea market since you got home—but the dress itself. “That’s pretty.” He sounds a tad breathless. “It’s, um. It’s white.”
“Yeah,” you laugh, “it was someone’s wedding dress, once. Isn’t it nice?” You give him a little twirl. “I think if I take out some of the layers in the skirt it could be cute for summer. Very flowy.”
“Very.” Remus caps the pen he was using for your grocery list, amusement coloring his tone. “You look lovely in it, dove. You know everyone will think we’re getting married when you wear it out, though, don’t you?”
“With the way you dress?” You grin. It worsens when he stands, coming over to you with a grin of his own. “Doesn’t seem likely.”
“My jumpers are very dapper,” he says, smiling into a kiss.
You hum noncommittally, and he gives your middle a playful warning squeeze. A quick peck to your lips, then another, longer and sweeter. You set your hands on his chest, feeling the soft material of the jumper he’s wearing now.
“I don’t know,” you tease, looking down at your contrasting outfits. “I think—oh, Remus!”
You move away from him, but the damage is done. Two smudges of ink remain on your dress where his fingertips were.
Remus is quick to follow your gaze. “Fuck.”
“It’s okay,” you say, even as your heart sinks.
“No, dovey, I’m so sorry.” He looks like he wants to reach for you again, but he looks at his hands and swears instead. “I can—wait one second.”
He goes back around the counter, and you hear the sink running.
“Really,” you say, “it’s fine. It was only a few quid.”
“No, but you were excited about it. I think I can get it out.”
“It’s ink, Rem, it’s…”
You trail off as he comes back around the corner, soapy dish sponge in hand, and presses it to your dress.
“What…” You move your arm out of the way. Remus settles a hand on your hip, holding the both of you steady as he bends closer to your waist. He swipes the sponge over the fabric with a concentrated furrow between his brows. “Are…are you washing me?”
“I’m getting the stain out.”
“I don’t think soap is going to do it, honey.”
The look your boyfriend casts up at you is equal parts loving and exasperated. “It usually works for me. This isn’t my first time getting ink on clothes.”
That, you can believe. The writing in Remus’ notebooks is always smeared, the culprit to be found in his inky hands. Sometimes you swear he gets black and blue stains up to his elbows. You’ve no clue how he manages it.
“Now we only need to put baking soda on it, and it should come out.” He gives your dress one last good scrub with the sponge.
“Right,” you say hesitantly. “So should I just lie down for that, or…”
“I probably should have had you take it off first,” Remus admits. “I panicked, a little bit.”
You laugh. He looks relieved to hear it, some of the guilt easing from his expression. “That’s my fault, I guess.” You unzip the back of your dress, trying to step out of it without disturbing the stain.
“No, I think it’s all still mine,” Remus says, but he takes it from you.
Once he’s done arranging it in the sink and piling it with baking soda, he comes back to you, slotting a hand behind your ear and letting his fingers slip into your hair.
“Sorry, sweetheart.” He kisses you.
You roll your eyes. He knows you can’t be cross at him when he does that.
“You just didn’t want me to be better dressed than you,” you say, though there’s nothing but fondness to be found in your tone.
“You’re always better dressed. As you’ve said, the bar isn’t high.”
“Oh, shut up. You know I like your jumpers just fine.”

Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 551 words
You’re spread-eagled on the cement floor of James and Lily’s garage. You’re worried you have sweat stains under your armpits, but not worried enough to hide them close to your body. No, you need all the contact with the cool ground you can get.
“Um.” You strain your neck to look in front of you, but it’s only Remus. “You okay?”
You let your head drop back to the floor. “Yeah,” you sigh. “S’nice in here.”
“It is ungodly warm out.” He grunts quietly as he sits beside you. “If Sirius had shown up before the afternoon, we could’ve been done and inside by now.”
James had asked you all over to help plant their new garden as a surprise for Lily when she comes home from her parents’. Poor Lily has been wanting to do it ever since they’d bought a house with a backyard, but she was first too busy and now too pregnant to be kneeling on the ground under the sun for hours. You’re not even pregnant and you worry it’s killing you, so really you’re glad the worst of the labor is being done for her.
“I sat down to drink my water,” you gesture with your chin to the half-emptied cup at your side, “but the floor felt so cool I decided to lie for a bit. It gets a good breeze in here, feel?”
“I feel it,” Remus agrees. His own hair is stuck to his forehead with sweat, but he lifts a hand to move yours, brushing damp strands away from your face. You close your eyes and hope your sigh conveys the appropriate gratitude.
“I’ll get up and help in a second,” you promise.
“That’s alright. Take your time.” His voice is an amused hum. “I didn’t come to fetch you, only to check on you.”
“Have I been gone long?”
“You don’t know?”
“Might’ve fallen asleep.” You’re beginning to sound slurred even now, the cool floor against your skin lulling you into a trancelike relaxation. “I didn’t realize quite how hot I was until I came in here. You know?”
Remus’ hum is tinged with worry. “Yeah, I think so. Sit up and have some water for me, lovely?”
You push yourself up with a heavy sigh, picking up your cup. You worry you’ve left slippery sweat spots on the floor. “I’m okay,” you reassure him.
“That’s good.” He lifts the hair off your neck, holding it in one hand so the air cools your nape. “Maybe you can have another water, just to be safe. We’ll bring them for everyone on our way back out.”
“That’s a good idea.”
“Hello?” Sirius comes around from the back, peering at the two of you. “You’re just slacking off without me, are you? I didn’t know we were having a break.”
“You had your break in the morning when we were here and you weren’t,” Remus reminds him.
“Oh, James is all by himself out there now.” You force yourself up, your thighs sticking to the floor. “I’ll go help him.”
“Just bring him back for some water,” Remus says after you. “We could all use a breather.”
“I swear,” Sirius grouses, “if he hasn’t stocked his freezer full of ice pops to compensate us for all this, I’m not going back out.”

²⁷⁾ sirens at midnight
neighbor!Sirius x fem!reader ♡ 528 words
You spot Sirius as soon as he comes outside, though you tell yourself you weren’t looking for him. He’s got a thick blanket wrapped around his shoulders and his hair is disheveled and poofy. He squints in the streetlight, looking through the sea of your neighbors until he finds you, too.
You wave lamely.
He makes his way over. The fire alarm from your apartment building is nearly deafening even outside. Even when Sirius is right in front of you, you have to raise your voice to be heard.
“Glad to see you’re not charred beyond recognition.”
“I tried to go back to sleep for awhile,” Sirius replies. “I hoped it might shut up. Who set it off?”
You shake your head, pulling your coat tighter around you as the wind picks up. You’re only wearing your pajamas underneath, much like everyone else here. “I don’t know.”
Sirius pulls his blanket closer, too, glowering all your neighbors around you. “I’m gonna kill them.”
“Oh.” You can’t find it in you to be surprised, but you do yawn, covering your mouth with a hand. “I don’t know how you’d have the energy.”
“I’ll find it.” Sirius joins you, leaning against the side of your building.
“When do you think they’ll let us back in?” you ask.
He groans. “It’ll probably be forever. The fire department has to come, and they have to sweep everything…I may as well go in to work now.”
“Dressed like that?”
Sirius gives you a sideways grin. “They’re lucky I come in at all. And if the blanket slips a bit, it’ll probably just earn me some extra tips.”
You laugh. “Are you not wearing pajamas underneath?”
“I’m wearing my pajamas. Some of us choose more modesty in bed than others, gorgeous.”
Your face heats ferociously, but the silence that lapses between you isn’t uncomfortable. You watch your neighbors try to calm frenetic pets, swap coats and coverings against the chill, fall asleep on each other while sitting on the curb. Despite the wailing of the alarm, your own eyelids start to feel heavy again.
When it finally cuts out, your relief is so immense you drop your head to Sirius’ shoulder without a thought.
“Thank god,” you mumble.
“What was that?” Sirius teases. “My ears are still ringing.”
In the new silence, you hear sirens approaching. Red lights glow in the distance.
“That’ll be the fire crew,” he says. You realize your head is still on his shoulder, and you lift it to find Sirius looking at you. He seems more awake than he had been. “Do you want to get out of here for a while? We could grab a coffee and wait them out.”
“Is anywhere even open right now?”
“Absolutely.” He gestures down the block with his chin. “That cafe there? Open twenty four hours a day, just for us.”
“Nice of them. Are you okay to go like that?” you ask, though you’re already walking with him.
“What, like this?” Sirius spreads his arms halfway open, giving you a brief view of his tattooed chest and boxers. “Sweetness, I might even get us a free meal. Don’t worry about me.”

You’ve decided not to make any more sounds. Your moaning and groaning was only worrying the boys, and if you can’t control anything else you can control that. Still, as slow as Remus tries to make the next turn, you can’t help your soft intake of air. Your head keeps turning long after the car has straightened out.
“I know,” Sirius murmurs in reply to your little gasp. His voice is weighed down with sympathy.
You’ve figured out that the cold of his hands helps, so he keeps pressing them to your forehead, your temples, your neck. On your other side, James is doing his best to keep you from moving with his arm around your shoulders. You’re holding your neck ramrod straight for the same purpose. You can feel the stitching of the seats where your fingers are pressed harshly to them, though in your vision the car is only a smear of gray interior and a deep blue out the windows. You guess by the color that it must be early morning.
“I’ve got a bag,” James reminds you. “Let me know if you think you need it, yeah?”
Your answering hum is wobbly. Sirius moves his hands to your cheeks.
“Are you feeling any better, sweetheart?” Remus asks. You can picture him looking into the rear view mirror, and you and then at the other boys. You wonder what faces they’re making in silent answer. “Can you see at all?”
“A little bit,” you lie.
Sirius makes a soft sound, low in his throat. He strokes his thumb over your cheekbone. “Don’t downplay it for us,” he chides, about ten degrees gentler than his usual admonishments. “We can’t help you as well if we don’t know how bad it is, baby.”
You press your lips together, hard, clamping them between your teeth, but you’re sure your boyfriends can see the tears you’re holding back regardless. James kisses your hair.
“It’s okay,” he says. “We can talk about all that when we get there, yeah? You’re alright.”
A quiet whimper slips out of you, two tears blinking out of your eyes one after the other.
“You are, angel.” James seems desperate to reassure you. Sirius’ hands move to press over your collarbones, firm and grounding. “You’re okay. We’re gonna make it better, my love.”
“Once we’re there, we’ll try not to move you around hardly at all, dove, alright?” Remus chimes in. “We’ll get you settled and checked out, and the worst thing that can happen is you end up sitting still and waiting this out. No more driving or walking or anything like that until you’re feeling better.”
“Okay,” you manage to squeak out in reply.
“Oh, my sweetheart.” James sounds nearly on the brink of tears himself, and you think you feel Sirius reach across you to rub his leg even as they’re both comforting you.

You hear a whistle on the wind. It’s faint, almost impossible to pick out over the constant thrum and chatter the city, but you have practice. You turn down the next empty alley you find.
There’s the soft thump of something hitting the ground soon after.
“Hi Peter,” you say, turning around with a smile.
Your boyfriend’s in his suit. He lets his head loll to the side as he walks towards you, some mix of exasperation and fondness. “Why are you walking home down dark alleys?”
“Because I knew you’d come talk to me.”
“Wha—” Peter lifts up his hands, helpless. “Are you always just walking down alleys on the off chance I’ll come talk to you?”
“No,” you laugh, stepping toward him so you can put your hands on his shoulders. The material of his suit is slippery under your fingers. “Peter, I knew you were there. You’re not as subtle as you think.”
“Really?” He sounds a bit disappointed. “Stealth is sort of part of the thing…”
“You’re very stealthy. I’m just more wily than most of the supervillains you fight.”
“I don’t generally fight supervillains.”
“Don’t you?”
“No.” He brings his arms around your waist, and tingles dance up your spine as his hand flattens over your lower back. You sense his smile underneath the mask. “Definitely not tonight. Tonight I fight creeps who come after my girl on her way home.”
You raise your eyebrows. “Were you planning on someone coming after me?”
“No.” He laughs. You feel the puff of hair on your face as he drops his forehead to yours. “No. I just wanted to make sure no one did.”
“Awe.” You tilt your head up, smearing a kiss over his cheek. “My hero.”
Peter squeezes your waist. “Did you just get lipstick on my mask?” he asks you.
“Yup.” You grin. “It looks great.”
“You’re really not doing a lot for my street cred tonight, sweetheart.”
“Oh, I think you’ll be alright.” You press your lips to the same spot again, darkening the mark. “This way all your supervillains know you’re taken.”

Sirius Black x fem!reader ♡ 731 words
It’s embarrassing, how much time you spend in front of the mirror before Sirius arrives. You fix and fiddle until you’re nearly unrecognizable to yourself, until your face is a word you’ve said too many times and it’s lost all meaning. You started out with more eyeshadow than you have on now, then you’d wiped that off and tried out a lip technique you’d seen in a tutorial online. You’ve used one makeup wipe already, front and back and all folded up to get to the clean corners, and you’re honestly still not sure if what you’ve ended up with is decent or if you just can’t look at it properly anymore. You hope your dress is enough to distract Sirius if it’s horrid.
You’re seriously considering wiping it all off and starting over again when the doorbell rings. Your heels click on the floor as you hurry to answer it.
Sirius looks surprised when you open the door, as if he hadn’t expected to find you on the other side. “Hi,” he says.
You smile anxiously. “Hi.”
He’s wearing a suit, which you’d been expecting but bowls you over nonetheless. Sirius manages to make it look both formal and relaxed, his dark hair tucked behind his ear on one side and his jacket unbuttoned suavely.
Remus claims it isn’t a big deal, this banquet his university is having, but it is. It is for Remus, because he’s receiving an award, but also (privately, selfishly) for you, because this is the first thing you’ve gone to with Sirius as his date. You’ve been on dates, and you’ve already met his friends, which he says was the important thing, but part of you is savoring the privilege of this. That he’d asked you to Remus’ event as his date.
“Hi,” Sirius says again. He blinks at you, slow and hard.
Shit.
“It’s too much, right?” You take a step back from the door, hand itching for a makeup wipe. “I can take it off quickly, we’ll still have time to make it. I’ll do something simpler.”
“No,” he says, “don’t change it, it’s…it’s nice.”
You cringe at the hesitation in his tone. You catch your reflection in the mirror by the door, panicked and overdone, as you turn back towards the bathroom. “I promise it won’t take long. I don’t know what I was thinking, the lips are way too much.”
Sirius’ fingers wrap harshly around your wrist, stopping you. “Don’t you fucking touch the lips,” he says.
His eyes catch yours in the mirror. You’re frozen. Once it’s clear you’re not reaching for the wipe anymore, Sirius loosens his grip, fingers skimming up to your shoulder and toying absently with the strap of your dress. He looks almost caught in a daze.
“Fuck.” He expels a breath. “I wish I could kiss you without fucking them up.” Your lips part in surprise, and Sirius closes his eyes like he can’t look at it. He compromises by dropping his lips to your shoulder. He kisses the bare skin reverently. “You look stunning.”
Your heart hiccups. “Really?”
You realize the second after you’ve asked that it sounds like you’re fishing for compliments, but Sirius doesn’t seem to care either way. He meets your gaze in the mirror again.
“Very,” he says. His brows bunch as if in distress. “You’re killing me, gorgeous. I can’t decide whether to go to Remus’ thing and show you off or keep you here to myself.”
You laugh. It dislodges some of your nerves. “We’re definitely going to Remus’ thing,” you say to him. “He’s winning an award.”
“He’ll win other awards, won’t he? He’s brainy.”
“I also didn’t get dressed up like this to stay in.”
“Much sounder reasoning,” Sirius admits. He sighs dramatically. “Okay, but do me a favor and give me a smacker so those pretentious shits know we’re together, yeah?”
You raise your eyebrows at him. “A smacker?”
“A kiss, doll.”
“I know what you mean,” you laugh. “You want me to get lipstick on your face right before this posh dinner?”
“If it looks half as good on me as it does on you, sweetheart,” he gives a winsome crack of a smile, “no one will have a bad thing to say about it.”
You decide it’s not worth arguing with him. Your dark lipstick looks very pretty on his cheek all evening.
