I'm not the earlier anon, but I like their concussion idea. For extra whump, Hiccup is in pain and exhausted, but maybe another of his riders is being interrogated by the enemy close by, so while Hiccup can't see what's being done to them, he can hear their screams and cries. The pressure to get them all out alive and safely would keep him from giving in to his own pain.
I feel like Hiccup would only really be able to manage unlocking the door, but hey, that’s a first step. And oh man, not only would hearing the screams emotionally hurt, but because of the concussion, it could maybe physically hurt as well. A+ whump.
I ... I didn't know there was another Tuff/Eret shipper besides me? I mean, I also ship Tuff/Dagur, but I love Tuff/Eret just as much?! Please @ me anytime you wanna talk or share drabbles. :P
Of course!
Tuff/Eret is such an under-rated rare pair! I’m glad to see others on this ship with me! <3
I'm gonna ask, because I just know you would have loved certain sibling scenes in ''Snuffnut' alone , what did you think about that episode, and all the great twin moments this season?
Heh, you know me! Twin moments are things I live for in RTTE! There’s nothing so beautiful to me as seeing Ruffnut and Tuffnut go through their highs and lows together.
I hugely appreciated all the twin moments where the twins demonstrate their intelligence. Tuffnut even chides Snotlout for not reading enough. While Ruffnut and Tuffnut are individuals who like to goof around, they do have knowledge of various areas, demonstrating that they have read up on topics. Since they seem to have comparable knowledge about every topic they bring up, it makes me grin, because that means they either 1). share their findings with each other in cute sibling conversations, or 2). intentionally read materials to one another. I can almost imagine Tuffnut picking up the Poetic Edda and reading it to Ruffnut in a dramatic intonation. They take turns reading it back and forth to one another. Then they pick up a scroll about ecology and read in the same histrionic tone.
In the “Snuffnut” episode, what struck me was that, even though Tuffnut had the quirky idea of faking his own death, he was willing to go extremely far reaches to make his sister happy. Tuffnut put his sister’s interests above his own. He gave up his entire lifetime of happiness of living with Ruffnut so that she could have what he thought would be a lifetime of happiness. Tell me a greater sacrifice than that!
Of course Ruffnut wasn’t actually happy to believe her brother was dead, and she showed in her own unique grieving process how much she missed him, too. In this episode, what we see is that the twins, even in the complete absence of each other, are always thinking about each other. Tuffnut wants what’s best for Ruffnut. Ruffnut wants what’s best for Tuffnut. And they’ll give up enormously good things in order to be with one another.
unpop onion for you: tuff/snotlout/dagur

Me and @maedarakat combined
@maedarakat the absolute gay panic hiccup has in this gif when Tuff touches his shoulder:
👀👀👀👀👀
Want more bland headcanons? Valka can’t hold her mead. Eret taught everyone in Berk new swear words, children included oops. The Twins once hooted like an owl at Cloudjumper until he dropped them in a lake.
I always want bland headcanons
Dhodkejdnkdkdmdrkdkkdkdkd thank u we have been blessed.
@maedarakat Astrid’s single Allowed character trait that isn’t abt hiccup is literally that she loves her family and would do anything for them, and traumatic experiences that happened to her family shape her entire character but ppl just expect me to believe bc Astrid’s entire life is about hiccup that she’d think valka was cool?
valka a) abandoned her family and b) abandoned her village and no matter how much she believed in dragons doesn’t change that that’s morally reprehensible to Astrid? Completely opposite of Astrid’s values. especially considering hiccup is literal proof that her fears were unfounded and instead of believing or having faith her husband was capable of change she ditched everything. like.... that is not something Astrid would admire at all
