SHORT CHAPTER!! ⚠️☢️
Chapter 4
➡️
He couldn't even begin to describe how much he despised seeing you with another man and why. He can't do it. He can't have you. He knows better than to repeat that whole falling in love and dating nonsense.
........Right?
But then why does it feel as if the adrenaline pumping through his veins would burst out even at the thought of you being with another man?
The sound of your echoed laughter pulled him out of his trance as he took in the dreadful sight in front of him - that guy, whoever he was- he didn't see his face as he had his back towards him, had his hands all over you, as you danced in his hands.
He had to do something. Why? He had no clue.
He saw him walking towards the bar as you too went there after a few minutes and he gave you a drink.
"Y/N?" Loki said as he approached you from behind "Oh, hey" "Would you mind if I talk to him for a second" he said referring to Marc "Uh, sure go ahead"
He took Marc and walked away till he was out of sight and as soon he was... "Do you know who I am ?" "Y-yes I do, Mr. Laufeyson" "Good. And know this, if I see you with her for even a millisecond from now, you'll be history. And if you even think about harming her, I'll make you beg for death" he growled. The fear was evident in the boys eyes as he heard this. "I'll count till seven...run. 1...2.." before he could reach till 5 the boy ran for his life.
Then Loki returned to you and sat on the bar stool beside you "Enjoying ourselves, are we?" he said, a tiny smirk playing on his lips "More than I thought I would... Where's Marc ?" "You seem to like him a lot, huh?" he said, controlling his jealousy. "I was just asking cuz he went with you....then he didn't so" you said with a shrug "And he never would." this made you visibly confused "I mean, he received a call and he had to go... who knows when you're gonna see him again" "Hmm...fair enough
Standing up, he offered you his hand to you with a little bow "May I have the privilege of sharing this dance with you, my lady?" he said making you blush deeply. "You may" you took his hand as he lead you to the dance floor.
Both of you swayed in each other's arms, uncaring of the world around you as you twirled and dipped.
Much to your surprise, and not in a pleasant way, you started feeling dizzy and lightheaded after sometime. Your body seemed like it was about to go limp. "Loki ...I ..I feel.." you started "What's wrong? Are you okay?" he said
"I..I sort of...I just.." before you could complete your words you went down like a stone but luckily for you, Loki was your night in the shining armour.... again. He, almost instinctively, picked you up, not letting your head hit the floor as a wave of concern washed his face
"Y/N? Y/N!? Darling, wake up!" he tried but it was to no avail. He signalled one of his guards and then moved out of the crowded hall, picking you up in his arms effortlessly as he carried you to his car with his guard backing you up from close behind.
The chauffeur opened the car door for him as he laid you down in the backseat. His mind was running a hundred miles per second. 'What happened to you?' ; 'Is someone behind it or is it just some deficiency of the body?' ; 'And if someone is indeed there, who could it be?' ; 'Could it be the kidnappers from earlier?' ; 'Could it be .....' then it hit him.
His nostrils flared and jaw clenched. "Darling, please open your eyes. Please" he said, sounding almost desperate. But it was again in vain. Then he turned to the chauffeur "You know where we need to go. There's only one accurate place" he said to him "Yes, sir" the chauffeur said with a nod and started the limo.
Loki tried all he could, from gently patting your cheek to restless attempts of calling you by your name but nothing seemed to he helping.
After sometime, the car stopped in front of what seemed like a lab. Loki stepped out the limo and a man wearing a white lab coat, with short brown curls and specs walked out with a smile on his face
"Laufeyson, after so many days! What's up? Everything okay, I hope?" he said, offering a hand for Loki to shake, which he did. "Hello, Bruce. Everything was okay, a few hours ago, but now ... you'll have to do your job, Dr. Banner" he said forcing a smile on his face as he was visibly tensed because of you. He opened the car door, revealing you.
"Wait, is that ...Y/N?" Bruce said, surprised "Uh, yes? How do you know her?" Loki asked, visibly confused "I will tell you, hut not now. Better if I treat her first, don't you think?" "Yeah, right. Sure, ofcourse. But don't think that I'll drop it." "Obviously. I know you that much by now. Bring her to the lab"
"Hey- watch your tongue! You don't get to order me or boss me around" "I'm not doing either, just performing my job as a doctor" this earned an eye roll from Loki and a "Clearly" which was dripping sarcasm.
You were brought to the lab and laid on the strecher as Bruce took your pulse and did all the essential things needed to be.

A month and two weeks had passed, you were slowly but surely trying to move on from your breakup with one Loki Laufeyson. You couldn't say it was easy, it was far from it. Freeloading in your Uncle's home was the concern you had tried your best to give a solution to. Not wanting to intrude more than you already did, you tried your best to look for a place of your own.
You did, an apartment that was a 10 minute walk from where the café was and it was within your budget. it was also an added bonus to have two room mates that you actually got along with. Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis, two interns at the company that Loki and Thor owns, or in other words, the company that was a cover up to what they do underground. When you had first learned about their job, you had to think twice about joining them in the apartment, but Darcy had been convincing, knowing that she hated working for the boring company. It was enough reassurance for you that they weren't placed as a spy by Loki's family. It also didn't look like either of them knew about the past you shared with the younger brother.
"You should bring your room mates more often." You Uncle had pointed out when Darcy and Jane had paid the café a visit. A smile were on the two's face as they enjoyed your Uncle's pastries and today's special coffee concoction.
"If you're willing to deal with Darcy's antics, be my guest." You sighed but the smile on your lips never faltered at the sight before you. Darcy and Jane were actually making the most out of their time here. The café was a good few minutes away from the building they work in so you appreciated them making the stop for their lunch.
"It's good you have some company after everything--" Your Uncle was unable to continue with his words as you gave him a pointed look.
You didn't want to talk about him. You were already in the state of moving on from him. The mention of the man would only hinder in what little progress you have already made.
"You should bring your boyfriend here, Jane. He's gonna love Mr. Y/L/N's pies among other kinds too." Darcy pointed out and you couldn't help but let out a laugh at Darcy's crude remarks and the sheer embarrassment that now painted Jane's face because of it.
"I don't see anything wrong with bringing him here. More customer for us." You assured Jane with a smile.
"I probably should buy Mr. Laufeyson something too. That man always has a stick up his ass."
The smile on your face had fell at the mention of your ex's name. Jane was quick to see the change in your reaction long before you could once again school your features. Loki, as much as you try to move on would somehow find his way in your life in a way you never thought he would.
Jane had finally reminded Darcy their lunch break was nearly over. As the two were handing the money for the meal they had, you had insisted that it was on the house, much to their protest and your own persistence to keep it. As soon as they were gone, you found yourself back in the office, fighting for the tears not to fall.
All the voicemails sent to you by Loki still haunted you. Every single calls were unanswered and you had refused to listen to any of them, fearing that there would still be a reason to return to him after everything that had happened between the two of you. You wanted him to give you a sign but every single time that there was one, you feared the cycle would come back and haunt you.
"Y/N?"
Taking a deep breath, you turned to your Uncle with a reassuring smile on your face. It was not something you needed him to worry about anymore. You broke things of with Loki, made a new home for yourself with Jane and Darcy. The mention of Loki shouldn't be much of a problem for you anymore. But here you were, affected by just the mention of his name.
"I don't want to talk about it." You dismissed long before the conversation could start. "I thought I can move on, I almost thought it was possible, Uncle."
Once again in the comfort of your Uncle's arms, you found solace. The nightmare that had been the end of your relationship to one Loki Laufeyson.
"You should talk to him." Your uncle suggest and was quick to shush you when you plan on protesting. "Knowing you, knowing how you always try to escape your problems, whatever happened the last time you talk to Loki. It wasn't closure. You just broke things off and ran away."
Your Uncle was right. No matter how much you would try to deny it, you question him for his action and when he couldn't give you the answer you wanted, you left and never turned back. Never giving him the opportunity to finally explain himself and his actions.
"You're my niece and I want nothing more than to protect you from every danger that would ever come your way. The last thing I would ever want to see happen to you is hurt."
You knew as much, how your Uncle had shielded you from everything that had ever happened to your parents when you were younger. how they had left you far too early in your life. It scared you more than anything else, to lose people you care so much about. You were scared, to have Loki constantly having his life on the life because of what he does. Scared that he would find someone else, someone better than you and you wouldn't even know it until it was too late.
-
"It's weird to actually be dating Thor." Jane had pointed out one night as the two of you were cradling what you guessed was your third bottle of wine for the night. Neither of you were ready to call it the night and sleep. What a way for the two of you to spend your Friday. Watching horrible romcoms in the living room, while the two of you laid your backs on the arms of the large couch.
"He seems nice." You point out. For the last few hours, Jane had been telling you stories and tidbits about the man that you already knew and had spent a handful of dinners with in the family home while you were dating Loki. "But are you alright with him being in his gang or whatever the mafia does?" You asked.
"I am." Jane responds with a shrug. "I mean I signed an NDA when I started working for them. But Thor's has been lenient with me, it's not like half of New York doesn't know what he had his family are doing."
You nod accepting her answer, you were part of the half that didn't know. Having known you roommate for a while now, you wouldn't believe she would be anything other than nice. She was in all sense of the word, having to deal with Darcy's impulsive tendency as well as what you knew well enough was Hela's killer moods on a day to day basis.
"Doesn't his work worry you? Like at all?" You questioned once more, knowing how annoying you sounded even in your own ear. But you wanted to understand, finally give a chance to whatever you left behind with Loki.
"It honestly does. But as long as I know he comes back to me in one piece and tells me where he is, I'm fine with it. The part of his life, I don't want to change that about him, and have him resent me because of it." Taking another swig of her wine, her attention turned to you, a knowing look settled on her features. "So got no one special?"
You shrugged.
"It's complicated," You muttered refusing to meet her eyes as you take your own swig of wine. "Broke my trust and all the shebangs."
"Come on," Jane snorts. "Nothing is more complicated than dating the righthand man of New York's notorious gang."
You dated the Leader. That was how complicated that could be.
Before you could change the topic, the sound of the door being slammed opened had you jump almost spilling the wine on the couch, the two of your turned to the perpetrator at the sight of an overly frazzled and an overly stressed Darcy that walked straight to the still half-full wine. Before either of you could ask what was going on, she had chugged the wine in one go.
"I'm going to kill Laufeyson." Was the first words that had escaped Darcy's lips as soon as she finished the bottle. "I get it, he's heartbroken and all, but all the shit I have to handle and all the shit that his secretary needed to handle because of this bullshit is just too much even for an asshole like him." Darcy rants plopping onto the couch between you and Jane.
"What did he do this time?" Jane asked standing up to get another wine for the three of them now. Jane sounded like whatever Loki was doing was a usual occurrence.
"He had Blake--" Darcy turned to you, "he's Loki's secretary." She supplied. "Make all this changes to the fucking contract with SHIELD, only to decide on having him send the first contract instead."
You blinked at the realization of how much of an asshole Loki had become since you've left and the aftermath it had done to everyone around him. Only getting worse when he as well as his entire family was banned from setting foot the café.
"We had to change the contract seven times. Seven-freaking-times." Darcy groaned, accepting the glass of wine Jane had finally handed to her. "Blake had quit today and now I'm expected to be Loki's new secretary. I don't know if I can even do it."
You looked at Jane as she now settled in besides Darcy, patting her in the back.
"Is Loki always been a dick?"
"I used to like him as a boss, he's better than Thor if I was being honest. But just out of the blue, rumors started going around that his girlfriend of god knows how long broke up with him. Things got worse from there. I mean I get paid by the hour, but his every beck and call me and Blake had to do on a daily basis is finally getting its toll on us."
This was taking its toll on him just as much as it did you. Your Uncle's earlier words coming back with a vengeance. Was it really closure you were looking for? Every single time you try to think of a life you can have away from Loki, you were placed in a blank. The only substantial thing you could think of was the café, nothing more and nothing less. That scared you, you loved the café, more than your own life, but to have that as the only thing in your life.
"I got to go." You stood up abruptly taking both of your room mates by surprise.
"Go? Where? It's the middle of the night." Jane question.
"I forgot something in the café." You lied through your teeth as you made your way to your room.
Changing into something more appropriate, you found yourself slipping into one of Loki's button down shirt. You never had the opportunity to return it to him, rather, you didn't have the heart to. It still smelled like him, the familiar warmth that was slowly fading as time passes by. Putting on some jeans and a leather jacket. You were all set. The keys to the apartment, the café, and you phone were shoved right into your pocket.
There was no turning back.
"Don't wait up for me." You told your perplexed room mates as you made your way out of the apartment. A game plan already forming on your head as you called one of the few numbers that you still did not have the heart to delete.
-
His life was falling apart.
For starters, his secretary has up and abruptly quit, his intern was practically having a meltdown when everything went down. The month and a half since he got out of the hospital was pure hell. Nothing was ever right in his life since you had left. Since the fateful day that you had left while he begged on his knees for you not to.
He knew very well that it was his fault. No day goes by without him realizing it, understanding it, and slowly coming to terms with such fact. He lied to you, for the years that the two of you had been together. He lied through his teeth, too cowardly to tell you the truth about what he truly does, the power he holds in this city.
His eyes turned towards the night sky. A view he had once appreciated, the floor to ceiling windows that had overlooked New York. His office, aside from the small desk lamp illuminating the test, was shrouded in darkness. The glow of the city lights against his face.
He felt the most powerful from where he stood by the window. Overlooking the kingdom he had made for himself.
But now, after everything he had lost. He felt so lonely. Even with all the men and riches he had accumulated, it still wasn't enough and everything means nothing to him without you in his life. The only good thing he was allowed to have in his forsaken life.
The gentle knock on the door, brought him back to this reality. The reality that he no longer has you in his life.
"Brother, you should go home."
Trust Thor to be the mother hen. A part of him still loathed what he had done, telling you everything that you needed to know about him, about the life he rules. He knew very well why Thor had to do it, he almost lost his life during the attack on him. He wasn't thinking straight, begging--the last thing he would ever do in his life, begging Thor to tell you everything before it was too late for him.
The day he was supposed to tell you everything was the day it happened. It had taken him over a month to recover to be brought back to consciousness. You were not there when he needed you, everyone refused to tell him what had happened to you, but the look of pity in his family's features was answer enough to the reacting that had occurred when you found out the truth.
"I'm not done with the contracts." Loki brushes off, never once looking at his brother. He didn't trust himself to, fearing everything bottled up would finally burst. "I'll go home when I'm done." He dismissed pulling his sleeves up, his wristwatch showing it was ten in the evening. Another sleepless night for him when he does head to his empty home.
"So I should tell your visitor she can come another time?"
He tensed, he was expecting no one. Turning to face Thor, standing besides his oaf of a brother was you, in all your beauty. A smile, a smile he would never have thought you were still capable of giving him was seen on your lips.
All he wants to do is fall on his knees, beg you to take him back, but the memory of seeing you, as his car would pass by the café, so happy even without him in your life. His mind was brought back to everything he had feared, the reasons why he had once refused to tell you the truth. Seeing you so happy, without him, was this your closure more than anything?
"Leave us." Loki orders earning an eye roll from you before you turn your attention towards Thor, thanking him for letting you inside the building.
The oaf had on a smile winking towards him before finally leaving the two of you to--talk.
Looking at you finally, it scared him. The lack of retorts you were so quick to make scared him. You were far from the spitfire he had fallen so madly in love. In front of him, was something he had broken. To see you're not even looking at him, it made him fear the worst.
His heart, that organ he had no such use for until he met you. Frozen and brittle, had melted because of you. An angel he knew he never deserved in his life.
"This is the first time I've ever been in your office." You acknowledge, slipping off the leather jacket you wore.
It didn't escape his sight the shirt you wore. His shirt. The shirt he had seen you wear countless of times that it had become foreign to him to even wear anymore. It was yours just as much as his heart was. It was too big on you, but you made it work, tucked onto your rip jeans with a few buttons undone, a glimpse of your bra and the swells of your breast.
He tried his best to control his thoughts. You were here for a reason, not for a fuck.
"I had asked you multiple time to stop by but you just didn't have the time."
You shrugged eyes falling to the floor to ceiling window behind him.
"I never had a reason to." You answered walking closer to him until the two of you stood besides each other. "Not until now." You added turning to face him.
He turned his head to meet your gaze. The familiar scent of vanilla wafted his senses. Eyes half-lidded, waiting for the painful words to finally slip out of your lips as you finally end things with him completely.
"Why didn't you tell me, Loki?" You asked.
"It's complicated." He sighed turning back towards the window, the once dim lights now looked brighter--or was it just you? "I just needed to protect you from everything I do."
Your silence scared him the most. He was so used to you nagging him, scolding him about the littlest of things in the house, but your silence it was what worried him. How little reaction you could give him, have the most impact on him.
"I don't need your protection." You brushed off, but it was far from the truth. Without her knowing, there was a target constantly settled on your back. Your café. What was left of your family. "That's all I ever wanted in our relationship, Loki. All I wanted was for you to tell me the truth."
He knew as much.
How you had loathed the fact that you two were staying in a multi-million dollar apartment that he owns in the heart of the city. You preferred something smaller, cheaper. Never one for gifts unless there was a special occasion. The things you valued the most was his time with you, and the knowledge that you were open to him. But he wasn't able to fulfill that promise.
"I'm scared of losing you." He admits. "But as I say it, it was my fear that had me lose you further."
You nodded besides him, your head somehow now rested on his broad shoulder. It took him a moment to calm himself. After so long, this was the first time you had any physical contact with him and he savors it, more than he lets on. Dropping his shoulder to better suit you.
"Is there anything else aside from this business you had that you're hiding from me?"
He shook his head. No, there wasn't anything more.
"Nothing more, My Love." He shook his head. "I am under the assumption that Thor had told you everything while I was--preoccupied."
"More or less." You supplied.
Silence had now lingered between the two of you. He was waiting for what you would say next. Would you make this work? Or was this your goodbye?
"Will you choose me or will you choose this part of your life?" Your question took him by surprise.
Would he? Would he leave everything behind for you? Maybe, if the circumstance calls for it. But at the moment, when he was far off the deep end, leaving would be a death sentence that was bound to happen. It would place you and everyone you cared for in danger. A danger he will not be capable of avoiding.
"If it means I get to keep you safe, I'm choosing this life of mine, Y/N." He spoke honestly, accepting that if this was the reason you leave, as long as you were safe, it was fine with him. He will come to terms with it.
"Good."
Just like that, his faces, cupped by your smaller hands and he was pulled in for a kiss. Heaven in your touch. Euphoria in your kiss. Closing his eyes, his hands grasped onto you waist, pulling you closer to him. Tongue, tasted your coffee flavored lips. He was consumed by you, by everything that has to do with you.
"No more secrets, Laufeyson." You pulled away, panting for air.
He nods, forehead resting against your own. Blue eyes staring right through you. A smile finally rested on his lips, as he promises the heavens for this new chance you were giving him.
"No more secrets," he vows taking hold of your hands and placing them on top of his chest, where his beating heart resided. "I can't lose you again."
"I can't lose you too, Loki." you whispered, lips trembling at every word. "I almost lost you before, I don't want that to happen again."
Kissing your lips again, he whispered his vows. Never, he will never break your trust anymore. His hands that still held onto your hands lifted up, knuckles kissed by his own now trembling lips.
"I love you, Y/N Y/L/N." He said smiling the warmth in his heart had finally returned--just like you. "I promise with my life and soul to be truthful with you as much as possible. I will devote my life to no one else but you."
You smiled, head now resting against his chest, as you pulled away from his hold. Arms now wrapped around his narrow waist.
"I love you too, you big idiot." And there you were, back to your former glory.
He chuckled kissing the top of your head as all the weight has finally lifted up from his shoulders. Here you were, finally back into his arms again.
The now comfortable silence was ruined at the sound of your phone ringing.
Pulling away from him, you answered you phone with furrowed brows.
"My room mates." You mouthed before going on a full conversation to whoever was on the other line. A part of him wanted to snatch the phone out of your grasp and tell off whoever ruined your moment together.
But a bigger question pops into his head.
"Since when did you have room mates?" He questioned earning a glare from you as you took a few steps back as you continued on with your conversation. Assuring whoever was on the line that you were fine and would be heading back to the apartment.
Loki could only roll his eyes at the moment irrevocably ruined now as he turned his attention back to the contracts still laying around his desk. He will give his intern a bigger raise when he meets her Monday. God knows she needs if after the stunts he's pulled for the last few weeks.
Finally with the phone now place back into you pocket, your attention was now back at him. Eyes pointedly checking on the contract he was reviewing.
"I sort of moved from my Uncle's place after a while." You explained with a shrug. "We can go meet them tonight if you want, but they're probably on their fifth bottle of wine by now."
Drunkards.
"Will you be coming back to our home?" He inquired, files now placed onto the drawer, locked for safekeeping. No longer was he in the mood to finish it up with you here.
"I don't know." You shrugged, slipping your leather jacket back on. "I'll think about it."
"Y/N..."
"Hey, we are still not over this whole thing." You pointed out. "You still haven't even apologized for lying to me, you can't expect me to come back to your place like nothing happened."
His features soften. Walking towards you, he pulled you into his chest, lips resting on the crown of your head. It was harder than he actually thought it would be. Gaining your trust would be his top priority. His mind falling back to the drawer that housed a velvet box he was supposed to give you pre-ambush.
"I'm sorry, My Love." He whispered, as sincere as he possibly could say. "I will earn your love and your trust back, whatever it takes."
-
"Behave." You had warned Loki as soon as the two of you had stopped in front of the door to your apartment. Loki's hands had somehow always found their way into your ass.
"I promise nothing as such." He snorts watching as you gently unlocked the door, praying for a miracle that Jane and Darcy were far too drunk to see Loki.
"Y/N!"
But somehow the sight that falls in front of you was something far worse indeed. Aside from Jane and Darcy, the man that was now settled on the couch had you wish the ground could swallow you up. Jane and Darcy both giving Thor a questioning look, before their heads jerked towards the man that stood behind you.
"Am I that drunk or am I see Mr. Laufeyson in the apartment?" Darcy questioned. "And how the hell do you even know Y/N?" Darcy nudged the still grinning Thor besides her.
"I see things have gone well with you and my brother, Y/N." Thor acknowledged.
You shrugged, but the warmth in your cheeks had made it obvious how things have turned out.
"I'll have Jane send the pies on Monday." You assured knowing that was the bargain you had to make with Thor to let you into the building at that time of the night.
"Ms. Lewis. Ms. Foster." Loki's steely greeting had the two women sit up straight. Wincing as you had elbowed him straight into his torso.
"This is Mr. Complicated." You explained looking at Jane and with a gentle nod, she understood now who Loki was to you. "And he's sort-of my boyfriend again."
"Complicated?" Loki snorted.
Before he could go on to a full discourse with you and the rest of the people in the apartment, you had pulled him by the collar of his shirt towards you room. Thor cheering the two of you on and invited the both of you to dinner with the rest of the family.
Locking the door to your bedroom, you were thrown into the bed, with Loki quick to make his way on top of you. A dark look you were all too familiar with.
"How I long to have you like this again."
Even as the warmth settled your stomach, you knew better than to fuck the man with the presence of three people outside the door. More than capable of hearing the two of them have makeup sex.
"They're outside, you horndog." You scold but moan as his lips fell right onto the curves of your neck.
Mood Board by wonderful @lokisbabygurl yeah... that's me too😂✌🏻
Summary : After Loki was banished from Asgard he landed at some place in midgard. Now that he didn't have his powers and magic he was just like another mortal. After a few years of struggle and rejection he became a mafia boss. A billionaire. Yes, he was a trader ...but of lives. His heart didn't feel much emotions now.Can a girl whom he met accidentally be his remedy ? Will she be able to break the wall he had built around his heart? Will she be able to bring light in his dark world?...
As he cut the phone he was in a great hurry and was practically fuming. "What's wrong?" you mused "It's none of your concern" he blankly said and stood up "Your arm- the stitches are not as necessary but you must disinfect it" "It'll be fine" "But-" "I. SAID. It. Will. Be. Fine" he firmly answered and left the room before stopping to say "Issac will show you the room. Eat something."
Once he was off to God knows where the same guy from earlier entered the room. He showed you your room and gave you dinner.
After having dinner you took a shower and changed into what seemed to be Loki's t-shirt, it was already placed on the bed when you entered the room and hell, it was so comfortable.
The sleep you had that night seemed to be the best you had in a month. That was untill you woke up in the middle of the night because of the nightmares. Now, those are the side effects of being kept hostage.
You were panting heavily, a thin layer of sweat covered your body and your throat was drier than the desert. Checking the time, you noticed that it was 3am. You got up from the bed to fetch some water for yourself for which you had to go downstairs....
As you took your glass of water from the kitchen, you heard the main door opening. You grabbed the nearest object for your defence which was a spatula and stood in a defensive stance. As the door opened you were relieved to see that it was Loki.
The sleeves of his black shirt were rolled up, a few top buttons undone. His hair were tied up in a loose man bun , some stary inky black tendrils coming in perfect contrast of the porcelain skin of his face. He looked Godly as the dim light caressed his face.
He walked towards the kitchen as he heard the shuffling noise and found you there instead. He let out a small chuckle "Were you planning to hit me with that spatula?" Your face immediately turned beet red "I uhh... i didn't know it's you.... it's freaking 3 in the morning." "And pray tell what were you doing at 'freaking 3 in the morning' ?"
"I...I came to get water" you felt his eyes run up and down your frame and that was when you realised that you were literally standing there in his t-shirt. Just his t-shirt. Sure it was long enough to cover but still....
"My clothes suit you quite well, darling" he said with a smirk. This caused you to turn even redder...if that was possible. "Did you eat dinner?" you asked changing the topic. There was a flicker of surprise on his face before he masked it "I- no. No, I didn't" he said
"Seriously? Wait, I'll make something for you. What do you want to have?" you asked him. "It's fine, I'm not hungry" he said "No it's not. What was the last meal you had and when?" "Uhh..I had lunch at....1" he answered.
You raised your brows "Do you even realise how wrong it is to go hours without meals? And it's been more than 12 hrs since your last meal.".....no response. "Now you sit here, I'm bringing you something to eat. Yes or yes?" he playfully rolled his eyes and said "Ok, ok, fine" putting his hands up in mock defence.
You made him some grilled cheese with tomato soup and served him on the dining table. "Loki... it's ready" you called him cuz he was not there, he said he was going to take a bath before you started cooking.....so now he must have finished.......
Your thoughts were stopped midway as you saw him coming downstairs without much clothes.....all he was wearing was a pair of sweatpants. His black curls were dripping from the shower as the water droplets grazed his strong, muscular body.
"I'm here, darling" he said in his unfairly arousing, spicy, delicious, sexy, hot, amazing voice.
"Have a seat, your meal's ready." you said with a smile. He graciously sat on one of the chairs of the dining table. "What about you? Are you not joining me, darling?" said he "I already had dinner" you replied "Oh, come on. Join me." he said "Loki-" "No, you're joining me. Now." he said in a tone which didn't leave much to argue.
So, you took a seat beside him. "How's your arm?" "It's fine" "Did you disinfect it?" "Uhh....." "You didn't, did you? Where's the medical kit?" you asked him. "I don't remember exactly...uhh..- no - wait, it's in my bathroom, in the top right shelf"
"You eat your food, I'll bring it"
As he yook the first bite, a moan of satisfaction slipped his lips.
"Mmm, this is scrumptious, Y/N! It's the best I've ever had on midg- Earth. It's wonderful." he heartfelt words made you blush "Thank you so much, Loki. I'm glad you like it" " 'Like' is an understatement, darling. I love it" you thanked him and smiled.
"I'll just go and bring the medical kit" you stood up and went towards his room, upstairs. "There's one in the guest room too" he called after you, so you chose to bring the one from the guest room.
After getting the kit you went back to where Loki was. "You can eat, it's on your left arm so it won't bother if I disinfect it even while you're eating." "Ok" he extended his arm towards you and you started disinfecting it.
Once it was done you dressed the wound. You looked at him after it was all done only to find him looking at you intently "What?" you asked "Nothing" he said averting gis gaze back to his plate. "It's done" you said referring to the now dressed wound. He gave you a little nod "Thanks" he said.
By now it was 5 am and your sleep was long gone. "Are you going to sleep?" you asked as Loki stood up "Yes, I am. Are you?" "Uhh ....no, I'm not sleepy anymore" "What will you do, then?" "I dunno" "You can go to the library or watch some movies if you want. The library is upstairs" "Sure, thanks"
You went to the library after he went to bed.
"Issac will show you the room. Eat something"
Sitting in the car he dialled a number "Handle him. I'll be there in a moment. He better not escape, for if he does, I swear I'll kill you"
In less than ten minutes, he reached the spot and barged inside, banging the doors open. He was fuming. "Master- " one of his men started but he stopped him and strode straight towards the captive .
"You thought you would spy on me and I wouldn't know? How mudane" he chuckled darkly. He took out a dagger and placed it on the boy's throat "Now, you have two options: tell me everything I ask or die" he said pressing the dagger closer .
"I-I w-w-will tell you . Please spare my life. Please. I will tell you whatever you ask" the boy meekly said, trembling with fear. "Wise decision, agent"
"You will tell me everything about you master. Every .Fucking .Thing."

Loki's POV
(time: when you were dressing his wound)
I knew she is trouble. I knew it when I saw her in nothing but my t-shirt. I knew it when I sensed the care and concern in her voice. I knew it.
Her nimble fingers tended to my wound so gently. She looked so determined, so concentrated. When I first saw her I didn't know why I did what I did. I didn't know why I brought her here. I didn't know why I seemed to.......care...for her .....no, this is not normal. She's just a stranger. I should not let these things cloud my judgement. Not again.
"What?"
(Three days in)
In these three days you got to know a little about Loki. He didn't talk much. Only when necessary. He completely avoided any sort of physical contact and remained either outside the house or in his room. He didn't seem overly friendly but he had a good heart. You knew it deep down.
Today, as you both were on the breakfast table he got a call. He saw the contact name and exited the room while you ate your breakfast.
"Mr. Laufeyson, that girl, Y/N......" the man on the phone said .
A/N: Hello, my darlings. This the first chapter of a new series. This one is more of a intro/story-building chapter. But I suggest you to read it before starting the series. I will start with the series next month.

His heart didn't feel much emotions now.Can a girl whom he met accidentally be his remedy ? Will she be able to break the wall he had built around his heart? Will she be able to bring light in his dark world?...
Warnings: a slight bit of angst, mentions of blood. VERY Short chapter.
-----------------
How They Met
He pulled into a driveway of a club. As he stepped out and strode forward someone ran into him "Watch where-" he wanted to snap at the person but stopped as he looked into those eyes. He saw fear in them. Normally, he wouldn't actually mind if the person feared him, as they should. But the fear he saw in those eyes was not because of him.
Before he could ask the reason for their fear he saw two men running towards him. "Sir, hand her over to us." one of them said. "And why exactly do you think I would do that ?" he said in his smooth velvety voice. "Cuz if you don't-" he pulled out a knife and the other guy pulled out a gun and pointed it towards him and the person who ran into him. "Oh, that's what we are doing now. Don't you think knives are a bit out of fashion?" he let out a seemingly dark chuckle and turned towards the girl "Get in the car. Now. Rolls-Royce. Black." He said giving the keys to her.
One has to be completely crazy to handover his car keys, that too a luxury one to a stranger....yet here he was...He himself didn't know why he was doing what he was doing.
She took the keys and ran towards car after giving him a court nod.
"What do you think you're doing, huh?" said one of the goons. The answer he gave was ......a punch. Right in the goon's face. The other one flew a punch at him but he grabbed his hand in the air and twisted it.
~~~°~~~
You were running for dear life. Running from those men- no- monsters. They were monsters. Accidentally you bumped into a man, he was tall and was wearing a black attire. Before you could say anything or apologise, two of those men/ monsters came running behind you.
You thought that it was finally the end. No where left to run. But then the man wearing the black attire gave you his car keys, "Get in the car. Now. Rolls-Royce. Black" he said .
You must be an utter idiot to jump in a stranger's car... yet a part in you believed in him. So.....you did what he said. The last sound you heard before entering the sound proof car was a gunshot.
~~~°~~~
"You should consider yourself lucky that I feel generous enough to spare your lives today" he snapped towards the goons one of who's leg now had a bullet in it. They ran. Like rats.
He was now walking towards his car and as he opened the gate he found the girl had fainted ( or dozed off). As he looked at her, she was looking weak and had bruises at several parts of her body. He gently shook the girl and she stirred and woke up. (Ok, so she dozed off)
She let out a small yelp as she saw him. "Hey, hey don't worry you're safe."he assured her. "What's your name?" he asked her "Y/N" "A name suiting a gorgeous being like you" he replied making you blush. As you looked at him you saw that he had a cut on his forearm "You are injured!" you exclaimed. He let out a small chuckle and said "Don't worry, it's just a cut" "It's not 'just a cut' it's an injury. Let me see it" you protested. "You think you can check it? You're not a doctor, Y/N" "I am. I'm a trainee doctor and I 'can' address such injuries" you replied. "Oh, it seems like I've helped someone useful" he said and removed his shirt from that side. "Um...ok, it's not that deep but it'll still take a few stitches. The blood flow is also not too high....Do you have a handkerchief?" He nodded and handed it to you a dark green silk handkerchief, you tied it on the wound and looked up, only to find him looking at you intently. "Uh...umm... it'll um.. work for now" you stuttered out. "Thank you, Y/N" he said
"Why were those guys after you?" he asked when you both had covered a certain distance after he started driving. "They kidnapped me and wanted to sell me to someone" you replied. "Where do you live?" he further inquired "Not in this country." "I'm taking you at my home for now. Your lfe is still at risk." he said "Thank you so much-" "Loki" he completed. "Thank you so much, Loki"
You were extremely weak as you were literally kept hostage for about a month and to be completely honest you were a bit scared, even from Loki.....he saved you, yes. But you didn't know him even the tiniest bit and yet going with him seemed the safest thing to do. Where else would you go at this time of the night?
"Loki, stop at a hospital. You must get the stitches." you said "It's okay. I don't need it." " Yes, you do. If you don't want to go to the hospital, just arrange me a medical kit, I'll do it" "That's better." he replied.
Once you reached his home .....it was a mansion. Several luxury cars were standing in his personal driveway. He got out first and then held the door open for you to follow.
There was seemingly no one else in that big mansion. He led you towards the living room and made you sit on the couch. " Water?" he asked "Yes, please" he called someone through the telephone - "Bring me two glasses of cold water in the living room" he said- no- ordered.
No five minutes later, a guy came with two glasses of water. He placed the glasses on the table and turned towards Loki, "Anything else, sir?" the boy inquired. "You can go" the boy bowed a little and exited the room.
*phone rings*
Loki picks up the phone and answers..
Hello?
What? Fuck it! You are of no fucking use. Hold on, I'm coming.
Before he could say anything else, Loki heard a screech of tyres and the line went off. 'Suspicious' he thought to himself before returning back inside .
To his surprise, you didn't ask questions like 'what's wrong' and 'what happened' . Good.He didn't want someone to pretend like they care. But then why does it feel weird ...as you didn't ask him anything? 'Clear your head, Loki. This is all utter rubbish .' He thought to himself. You'll leave one day or the other. Everyone does. She did.
"Meet me in the living room"
Once you went to the living room, Loki revealed a bag which had a beautiful, short emerald green dress in it. "This is for you" he said, not wanting to show any sort of emotion and kept his face blank but he couldn't resist the small smile which formed on his face at your respose which was - "Loki...you didn't have to...... Thank you so much. It's very beautiful"
"Get ready. We're going for shopping" he said. "But, we don't have to... Loki, you've already done so much for me." "Hey- listen, it's totally fine. Just go and get ready." he said with a ......smile?
'Hold your stupid emotions, Laufeyson. She's just.....a girl whom you have not known for long .Stop these freaking things and especially smiling at her. That is what took you down earlier!' He mentally scolded himself.
He tried not to focus on you, your smile and your beautiful form. But when you came out wearing that sundress with your hair loose in waves.... it was really, really hard for him to not just keep looking at you and to k-
'Shut the fuck up! What are you thinking! Dammit'
He cleared his throat, " You look amazing" he said "Thank you" you said with a smile. "I'll just go and change" he said. Yes, he could've changed while you were but he was a little too preoccupied with his thoughts.
After a while he came out wearing a pair of his usual black slacks and a burgundy shirt with it's sleeves rolled up.
~°~
Y/N's POV
You had been thinking about Loki more than necessary...but who can blame you? He is so .... handsome.
No,no, no,no. This is wrong. So very wrong. He helped you. And what you are doing?
......
He walked towards the table in the living room and picked up the car keys "Let's go" he said simply. He was looking mind-blowing!
Why, like why does his slacks have to be so ....tight?!!! Always!
"Y/N!?" he said, seeing you a little zoned out . "Y-yeah, let's go"
~°~~
You and Loki were sitting in the his car, while two more covered his from the back and front respectively. " Y/N?" He asked as you turned your focus to him from looking out of the window and hummed "Is there something about you that I should know?" he asked "What exactly are you talking about, Loki?" "You know what, it's ok.. nevermind"
Weird....
*in the store*
You were looking around when someone bumped into you "Oh, I'm so sorry" the person said ...."Lily!?" "Oh heavens, Y/N! Where in the world were you? I was so worried" "Well.... that's a very long story. Some freaking bastards kidnapped me...." "Holy Shit-"
"Uhh..Y/N, we're taking this dre-" Loki looked at Lily and then at you, visibly confused. "Uhh.. Lily, this is Loki, he uhh..." "Is he your boyfriend or something?!" she said as Loki tried hard to hide a smirk "No! I'll tell you later, we have a lot to catch up on." you said, blushing.
"Will someone please explain to me- what is going on!?" Loki said. "Oh, yeah, right. Umm, this is Lily, my best friend and Lily..well..I already told you who he is" "Well, hello there. Pleased to meet you, Lily" he said "Hey. Same here" she got a text
"I'm sorry, I'll have to go, work reasons.... I'm so sorry..Uh, we'll catch up soon, Y/N. How about we meet here tomorrow? Call me when you get time, ok?" "Hey- it's okay, no worries. I'll call you. And as for meeting here ...." you looked at Loki and then said "Well, I'll tell you on call"
After giving you a hug, she went off.
"Now, maybe you'd like to give a detailed explanation of that interaction" said Loki "There's no detail actually, we bumped into each other and then you saw the rest." "Anyways, we're taking these" he said gesturing to a few dresses " Go, try them on" "Loki, they are so many ...we don't need to buy all of them and this one is a party-wear I don't have any parties to attend" you said with a chuckle at the end. "Yes, we do cuz I like them and I obviously can't wear them myself, neither do I want to. So, you'll do that for me. And that's final" he said with a mildly firm ending. "Oookay" you said with a chuckle.
After trying the dresses on, both of you went to a makeup store after your much efforts on declining, he was so good to you, he already did so much. He gave you shelter, and above all, he saved your life. And now this. Though he didn't show it of off that much but deep down he had a great heart.
*After shopping*
You both sat in the car but he wasn't driving in the direction of his mansion. "Loki, where are we going?" "To a restaurant and you can't tell me that you're not hungry after all that shopping" he said "Well, yes, I am" you said with a light chuckle. It stirred something inside you, you were most definitely developing feelings for the insanely handsome man - No, shit- this is not right.
Fuck
He stopped at a very fancy restaurant, and booked a private booth for you two.
After that you both had your food and headed back.
No sooner you and Loki had entered the mansion than a loud horn was heard outside. Loki immediately rushed outside cuz that was not normal, his house was not in the public area. You followed him out.
A man with a metallic arm, who was clearly shot in the one of flesh and blood appeared from the car. "Barnes? Shit-" Loki said, looking at him "Y/N? Can you treat that wound?" "I-I'll try my best, I have to examine it first to be certain." he walked towards Barnes to support him and brought him inside. He took him to a room which seemed to have all sorts of basic medical stuff for such wounds...must be because he has a personal doctor too.
"Uhh...it most definitely needs stitches" you said, examining the wound "It's much worse than yours , it's a literal shot. Luckily, the bullet passed through and no major damage is done" you continues "C-can you do that?" "Yes, yes I can" you said wasting no more time and starting the procedure as Loki waited outside.
Once it was done and the man whom now you know as Barnes asked to meet Loki immediately after he thanked you.
"Is he ok now?" Loki asked as you walked outside the room "Yeah, he is completely out of any sort of danger, mild or any and wants to meet you" you told him "Thank you so much, Y/N" "Oh, come on Loki, it's nothing compared to what all you have done for me" you said with a smile he reciprocated the smile and went inside.
"Barnes?" "Mr. Laufeyson, I - that girl-" he started as he tried to get up but was not able to and winced "Hey- you need rest now."
"No, you need to listen to me . It's important. She....."
