Despite the success of the past few weeks, despite her increasing active role in the business, she had to try and conceal her nervousness as she sat in the car, a large bag on the seat next to her, shiny and black and filled with the best presents she'd found. She was determined, confident she was right where she was meant to be and ready to prove it, had no doubt that she could present herself the way she wanted. She was unable to say if she had Helders fooled, his eyes on her as he sat opposite her, the car slowing only for a moment as the gates opened and they approached the large house, then parked in the driveway next to Alexander's car, she took a deep breath, mere seconds passing before Helders held the door open for her.
Her black heels clicked on the ground, the cold only affecting her for a moment while she walked up to the door. She had rarely ever seen Helders in anything but the standard black suit, though this occasion's was dark burgundy, a shimmer to the material, and he wore a black shirt. She averted her gaze when she could sense he noticed her looking to distract herself. Before she could spare it another thought, the door opened, Cook stood on the other side, his suit maroon, though matching Helder's in material.
They exchanged a nod, then Jade was, to her surprise, greeted by Alexander's father before she could assess the inside of the house. She gave a nod. “Sir,” she said, the older man offered a nod in return, followed by a gesture and Helders took Jade's large black coat that had up until then concealed her well-fitted dress, velvet and sacramento green, the sleeves long, the neckline low, Alexander's jewel decorating her skin.
“Welcome.”
She smiled, tilted her head to the side. “Grazie, Don Turner.” She licked her lips, watched as Cook carried her bag inside for her. She could hear music somewhere in the distance, dishes and chatter from the kitchen, as well as the living room. “I-...” She cleared her throat. “Where is Alexander?”
“With his mother,” came the response. “In the kitchen.” He gestured vaguely, then turned back into the living room, Jade's curiosity too great not to follow the sounds, especially when she heard the depth of Alexander's voice ring from the kitchen, followed by a hint of his laughter.
She was unprepared when she stood in the frame of the large sliding door that led to the kitchen, it was half open and she was offered the perfect view of the entirety of the room. Alexander was wearing the same suit trousers she'd seen him exit his apartment in earlier that day, black and pinstriped, though the jacket was discarded over one of the chairs, his shirt that matched Jade's dress in colour unbuttoned at the top, the sleeves rolled up, and he swung a towel over his shoulder before picking up a wooden spoon to stir in a steaming pot on the stove, then scooping the smallest amount out to try, his eyes widening when they met Jade's as he turned around.
“Alexander...”
His face lit up, the corner of his mouth tugging upwards, a suggestive raise of his eyebrows. “'ey, doll,” he drawled, licking his lips.
“Jade, y'look wonderful,” Penny called, approaching her, an apron tied around her waist to protect her sparkling midnight blue dress. “I love this dress...”
Jade could barely focus on her, turning her head, though her eyes wandered back to Alexander in front of the stove, now standing up straight and adding something to the pot he'd been assessing. “Alexander gifted it to me this morning,” she explained absently, distracted. “I like your dress too.”
“Oh, grazie, bambina... did David greet you, like I told him?” She leaned to glance into the lounge.
“Oh, sí, he did,” Jade assured her.
“Good, good,” Penny nodded, then looked to Alexander. “I'll be back, bello.”
Jade followed her momentarily with her eyes, then when she turned, Alexander was already right there, one more step and he'd closed the space between them, made his way around the large kitchen island and his hand found the small of Jade's back. She swallowed, blinked back at him, though before she could question, tease, make any sort of comment, her eyes fell shut automatically with the way he kissed her, towering over her, his other hand cupping the side of her face to keep her close, the intensity with which his lips moved overpowering and hopelessly weakening, left her breathless when he drew back and his eyes opened, the depth of his stare addictive.
He stroked his thumb over the material of the dress, licking his lips. “Y'look sensational, doll.”
She closed her eyes momentarily again, leaning into his touch, though refusing to let him hypnotise her. “Alexander...”
He chuckled, the cheek sparkling in his eyes and he raised an eyebrow. “Yes, Jade?”
The depth of his voice was going to be the end of her. She bit her bottom lip, met his gaze again before she spoke. “You're helping your mother cook?”
His eyes widened, his head tilting to the side. “'elpin'?” he asked. “'s me dinner, darlin'.” He shook his head. “Been plannin' for months, the sauce for the manicotti is cookin' back there, zuppa di pesce de frutti di mare I've got in the other pot, tortiera di alici are in the oven, I mean, quite a few fings, but yeh'll 'ave t'wait 'n see, doll...”
She listened, her mouth watering as he spoke, her eyes wide with adoration. She could not hold back, too taken aback to deny him the satisfaction. “You cook,” she observed, evidently surprised as much as she was impressed, though knew she should have known better.
Alexander blinked back at her. “Onleh wif me mamma,” he stated, shrugging.
She gave a slight shake of her head, still in disbelief. “It smells incredible.”
He wiggled his eyebrows, chuckling. “I mean, 's a special occasion, eh?”
She rolled her eyes at his nonchalant response. “Dolce?”
He chuckled knowingly. “Got a special panettone,” he hummed, leaning closer and lowering his voice. “But...” His breath ghosted over her neck, her eyes falling closed as he pressed his lips to her neck just below her ear. “I made real luvleh zabaglione for yeh.”
His palm felt warm against her back, the slightest pressure making her body curve into his, though she felt she was already gravitating towards him. “For me?”
He hummed, her audible excitement all he needed. “Onleh you, doll.” He drew back slightly. “Let meh make yeh a drink so yeh can join the ofers. 's not joost me dad out there, Serena's 'ere too, and Mi should be 'ere aneh minute.”
“What about you?” she asked, could not conceal the need in her voice after his delicious promises, the suggestion of what would follow.
“Not mooch left t'do,” he stated, his thumb smoothing over cheek. “I'll beh all yehrs. If they give yeh aneh shit out there, dun't 'esitate givin' it rehyt back.”
She smiled, though already craving more of him as he drew back, unable to keep herself from pouting, her bottom lip pushing forward as she watched him with wide eyes.
“Oh, Jade...” he drawled. “I missed yeh all day.” He came closer again, his arm wrapping around her, his hand sprawled out over her abdomen, his lips against her cheek. “And I'll beh rehyt out there, I promise yeh.”
She sighed, relaxing back into his touch, could feel how at ease he was himself, the muscles in his chest and his arm less tense, effortlessly easing her too.
“D'yeh want meh t'tell yeh wha' I'm doin' wif yeh later?”
She tensed again instantly, her eyelids fluttering, she knew she wouldn't be able to resist. “I-...”
“Shh, I joost want t'tell yeh, see if yeh're interested,” he declared nonchalantly, dragging his hand up her body, adjusting the jewel around her neck. “May I?”
She nodded, her breath caught in her throat momentarily, left unable to verbally respond.
“Weh get back t'me apartment 'n yeh dance for meh a bit...” It was a demand rather than a question, though he waited nonetheless for her response, humming with satisfaction when she nodded. “Then weh get yeh on the bed...” He brought his hand further up to wrap his fingers slowly around her throat, felt her relax back into him instantly. “Mmm, 'ow about I take me belt 'n put it round yehr throat...” He gave a hint of a squeeze, felt her nod. “Then use it t'move yeh on meh real slow?”
She tried to catch her breath, felt his hand move to gain access to her underneath her dress, effortlessly pushing her thong to the side.
“Yes?” The depth of his voice was intoxicating.
“Yes,” she breathed.
“Luvleh.” He paused. “Jade...” he drawled, the movement of his fingers shameless. “'ave yeh cum on tha' new lace I gave yeh?”
She swallowed hard, his fingertips brushing over her throat. “No...” she whispered.
“D'yeh want teh?” His fingers filled her slowly, made her shiver and fall back against him.
She could hear sounds from the lounge growing loader, feared someone approaching, too dazed to identify the closeness of the steps. “A-Alexander...” she whined, squirming, sinking down on his fingers as she adjusted, tears stinging in her eyes.
“Joost say no 'n I'll take me fingers out of yehr cunt, doll...” he hummed reassuringly.
“No,” she whined instantly. “I mean-... no, I... please don't...”
He waited, his movements ceasing, feeling her tighten, gush around him, desperate for more. “Jade?”
“Don't stop,” she caved, felt the muscles tense in his arm that was wrapped firmly around her, his fingers releasing her throat to push two fingers into her mouth, then he curled his fingers inside her, his thumb adding increasing pressure to her clit and in mere moments she fell apart in his arms, intoxicated by the spice of his cologne, the intensity of his voice, his lips pressed to her neck, tears rolling down her cheeks as she sucked needily on his fingers.
Alexander hummed with satisfaction, held her steady until she'd panted out the pleasure, attempted to steady herself, his hand on her hip as she adjusted her dress, turned around to face him.
The sparkle of mischief and excitement in his eyes was too much, she knew there was no use trying to hide how much she adored him.
He brushed his fingers through her hair at the back of her neck, then reached behind her to pick up a soft handkerchief from a folded stack, dabbing it lightly over her cheeks with the tips of his fingers. He was hopelessly drawn in by her perfection, the irresistible cherry red of her lips, the way her skin was slightly flushed around the jewel after he'd allowed himself to give her a taste of what he wanted to do, what he would do, her eyes wide. “Y'look phenomenal.”
She laughed quietly, leaned in to peck his lips, drew back to see his features lit up.
“I can't wait teh actualleh see tha' lil' set yeh're wearin'...”
“How does it feel?” she asked, licking her lips.
He raised an eyebrow at her nerve. “Like I'll 'ave t'try me best t'keep it intact,” he stated, his voice unshaken.
She pursed her lips, her heart skipping a beat when she was kept from responding by Penny entering the kitchen, the doorbell ringing at the same moment.
“Tha'll be Miles,” she said. “How's the soup, bambino?”
Jade drew back reluctantly, her heart skipping a beat from the intensity of Alexander's eyes before he averted his gaze after his lips formed the words “ti adoro, cara mia”, and one step out of the kitchen had her drawn into Kane's arms, surrounded instantly by the sweetness of his overwhelming floral scent, before he was leading her into the lounge.
“Come wif me, bella, let the maestro do 'is magic.”
It was not long that she sat with Alexander's father, Serena and Miles alone, the conversation carried mostly by the latter, dressed in a burgundy suit that he was pleased matched Helders in a certain way.
Although Jade had now been in the house of Alexander's parents a multitude of times, she still found herself completely drawn in by the way it had transformed for the occasion, the statement piece of the lounge among the tasteful decoration the large tree, reflecting the classic theme of gold and burgundy. All presents were concealed by the shine of elegant bags, or sleek black wrapping paper. What she had brought had already been added, and she sipped contentedly on the glass Penny brought her from the kitchen, knew instantly Alexander had mixed it for her, as promised.
Soon, she found herself sat by his side at the long table in the dining room, a new drink in front of her, Alexander's hand resting soothingly on her thigh, occasionally toying with the lace elastic of her sheer nylons. She was unsurprised by the divinity of the food he'd made, despite her initial reaction, she knew she should not have doubted his skill, had not yet found anything he was unable to shine in, and the moment she ultimately was presented with her favourite dessert that she had made just for her, she could not have been more comfortable right where she sat by his side, the plates cleaned when Alexander rose to his feet and cleared his throat to speak, ringing his fork gently against his glass.
“Joost a few words before I want teh start 'n give yeh all me presents I've brought yeh.” He licked his lips, looked around as he had everybody's attention. “'s been a 'ard year,” he stated. “But 's also been an adventure. Weh're at the top, nobodeh undermine us.” He pressed his lips together, then his eyes wandered to Jade, reaching out and smiling when she lifted her hand for him to take. “And I got me darlin' Jade,” he added. “I luv yeh all. All of yeh mean the entire world t'meh, I am proud, 'n I am grateful t'beh a part of this famileh. Merreh christmas.”
Jade leaned to press a kiss to the back of his hand, then let him lead her over to sit by the tree with the others, leaned back an armchair and pulling her into his lap shamelessly, now that he'd eaten and taken care of what he'd wanted to allowing himself to really relax, the occasional kisses he drew her in for tasting sweet, as well as bitter from the exquisite whisky he'd ordered and begun sharing with her.
He watched as they one by one opened his presents for them, his mother a perfume, a necklace, a dress, for his father he'd imported a bottle of ancient scotch, had found a vintage watch he knew he'd love. With Serena engaged in conversation with his father, and Miles out of the room to find a bottle of champagne Alex had promised, he could no longer contain himself and told Jade which present was for her, insisting she sat back down in his lap before she drew the shiny black Versace box from the matching bag, her eyes widening as she lifted the cover.
“Oh, Alexander...” she mumbled, her eyes glued to the beautiful two piece made up of a black skirt and a sweetheart-neck corset style top, long-sleeved and hopelessly elegant.
He chuckled, adored the excitement on her face. “Yeh're gunna look stunnin' in it,” he told her, then reaching out to hand her another bag. “But tha' ain't all, darlin'.” He licked his lips, watching her closely.
Jade drew the Valentino bag from its concealment, lifting her gaze to look at Alexander, turning the gorgeous accessory between her fingers. “This is beautiful,” she said. “I haven't seen it before, I-...”
“'s limited. I mean, going t'be,” he explained. “I made sum calls, got yeh one of the first. I figured it were vereh you, doll.”
She placed it down carefully, then leaned in to cup his face into her hands, kissing him deeply, felt his arm instantly wrapping tighter around her to pull her in closer, parting her lips with his, a husky groan escaping his lips, testing her resistance, she wanted him desperately.
His attention was compromised when he heard Miles clear his throat behind him, patting his shoulder.
“I want me present, bello,” he drawled.
Jade took a deep breath as Alexander drew back, lifted her gaze, though stayed sat as she was. “I'm giving him mine first,” she stated.
Alexander chuckled.
“Anyfin' y'say, bella,” Miles grinned, wiggling his eyebrows and kneeling down, waiting for her to instruct him which one to pick up.
“The white one there.”
Alexander held out his hand, then turned to look back at Jade. “Wha's this, doll?” he hummed, his attention exclusively on her again.
She licked her lips. “Open it,” she shrugged with a smile.
He rolled his eyes, slowly opening his first present, shuffling to see Jade's reaction from the corner of his eye, though unable to focus on anything but the ring in front of him once he'd opened the small box. “Oh...” he hummed, carefully taking it out and holding it into the light. “Oh, darlin'...”
She smiled contentedly to herself as she watched him inspect the exquisite piece of jewellery that she knew he'd been after, had heard him on the phone with an antiquity dealer, only to be denied purchasing the ring, simply because of his reputation, the men on the other hand more nerve than anyone Jade had heard in opposition to Alexander, so she'd gone personally, not in one of his cars, without any attachment to him to appear interested herself, for a fabricated husband that did resemble Alexander in any way, and it had not taken much.
A smile was playing around his lips as he looked up at her, placed the gold ring on his finger, unable to help the smug expression. “'ow did yeh do tha'?” he asked, knew this was not the moment to deny her the satisfaction she deserved.
She took his hand, brought it to her lips and kissed the ring, held his gaze. “As much as I love being associated with you and using your power, I got this through a little charade, pretended and flirted a little bit and it was mine. I know how much you wanted it.”
“Darlin'...” he sighed, hypnotised by the way she spoke, her pride and passion.
“And I knew you'd love it even more, knowing that you can spite this dealer now, that you got what you wanted and he has no idea.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Fookin'ell, yeh've realleh got meh, Jade.” He sighed. “Fook. I swear I'd do anehfin' for yeh.”
She smiled triumphantly, hopelessly enamoured by his unfiltered excitement, watched his eyes wander down at the signet ring again, gold, an ornate band of vines and leaves, the top flat and encasing an emerald, unusual in its deep green colour.
“Doll?”
“Mm?” She tilted her head to the side. “Did yeh do this t'mark yehr territoreh?”
Jade hummed. “Mmm, it might have motivated me.”
He chuckled, his hand coming up to brush his knuckles lightly over her cheek. “Tha's me girl...”
