Does anybody know what accent Floyd (the ship hand) has in Mag.#141 “Doomed Voyager”?

I’ve been trying to puzzle it out but I swear it changes every five seconds. It almost sounded Spanish at one point??

Whoever said this podcast was a horror drama lied. This is pure comedy. Jon saw a tape recorder appear out of nowhere and started interrogating the nearest person while Basira impatiently taps a foot nearby and lets him.

i guess i don't know what the general fandom attitude is towards Basira in season 4, but I love her.

Basira: "Jon, you need to use your powers more, be more like Gertrude."

Jon: "okay, fine." *forcibly extracts a statement from some guy on the ship*

Basira: "oh ok that's terrifying, maybe don't do that."

like all I really have to go off of rn are the comments on spotify, but I think they're being too mean to her. bc of course she wants Jon to be as helpful as possible for this mission, which means using his powers, but i also understand that actually watching him do that must be terrifying! especially since there's not much stopping him from doing it to her, besides his tenuous connection to his humanity. it's scary! she's scared! don't be mean to her!!

mag141 is like a complete mystery to me every time. jon and basira on boat to ny alesund, floyd matharu, one of basira's most frustrating bits of hypocrisy. the content of the statement? naw. Mikaele salesa? never heard of im. mikaele salesa dying? aw man forgot he did that.

just. nothing. every time.

#tma #mag 141 #being seasick does lower your hypocrisy score tho no ones at their best while nauseous #and it's a kind of circular argument where *no one* involved is trying to speak productively #but it is also fairly brief #i think it sticks out bc it's usually less direct ie the baseline daisy gets different standards from everyone else version #like. it's jon going basira you can't have it both ways and she kind of clams up #and then she says jon maybe consider the consequences of your actions and he clams up #which. idk what else she expected considering the consequences of his actions is one of jons weakest skills but otherwise fair enough #but his bit gets offset by Every Other Conversation jon has #while basira not only isn't in every ep but often isnt even at the institute #massively upping the % of time she spends being kind of crappy about jon and new huntless daisy compared to the others #she doesn't get enough time for that much philosophical musing rip #ink post

First listen to: MAG 141 - Doomed Voyage

I was totally wrong about this whole episode. I thought this Floyd guy was on that ship with Oliver Banks. It was going to be revealed that he was dead all along but didn’t know it. Instead it was a Salesa statement. I can’t wrap my head around that guy. Other characters like Helen or Nikola make sense but Salesa is a mystery to me.

Jon was terrifying this episode. Good on him though for standing up for himself. He gets berated for not wanting to hurt people and then gets chastised for using his powers on others. Tim was guilty of this and so is Basira. That Gertrude comment from Jon was wonderfully delivered. I just hope that he doesn’t turn out like Elias.
