Cithrel crying, telling Jowan they're sorry for everything, everything they didn't say and everything they did, everything they didn't do and everything they did, and most especially for not leaving with him when they had the chance to. And he doesn't even get to hug them, because there's bars of a cell keeping them from each other, so he can only watch sadly and try to hold their hand one last time. Because he knows he's not going to be there much longer, and he wished he could've at least given them a hug before going.

I'm always talking about Cithrel and Jowan's relationship as "oouggh siblings, beautiful relationship", but Cithrel also absolutely says "my condolences" to Lily when meeting her for the first time, and Jowan absolutely tells Cithrel to "fuck off" and pushes them physically off the table when they're annoying him while he works, don't get it twisted, they're siblings in every way
I love the fact that, because Cithrel is basically asocial, Jowan almost looks extroverted next to them... He'll suggest Cithrel "talks to other people" or "just go ask" and next thing he knows they're rolling around on the floor going "Nnnoooooooo" while kicking their feet and scratching their head.
Thinking about how many Grey Wardens actually used to be criminals originally... And specifically how Edmond got to chose between that or the death penalty... Do you think Cithrel cried when they learnt about that because they realised they could've saved Jowan if they'd known how to perform the Joining? Yeah...
My mind is so full of Mage Siblings fluff because of the Warden!Jowan AU and the Modern AU... Oh the Angst is going to snap back and kill me-
Warden!Jowan AU but Cithrel dies to kill the Archdemon, Cithrel holding Jowan's head after he was executed... And Jowan holding Cithrel's lifeless body in the ruins of Denerim.... Both knowing they were there siblings executor in the end.... And since I'm on Mage Siblings angst, how about the Yecen Worldstate, where despite what happenned to Cithrel (aka Tranquilization), Jowan remained at their side and honestly, maybe, just maybe, he also became Tranquil (debating that one) But just... The idea that in most cases they cannot remain both safe and manage to protector each other, it's either death for one, or a fate worse for both... The doomed siblings, ever
