Anyway the real writer experience is actually fully writing a scene in your mind while trying to sleep but being so scared to forget it you have to write it, except you don't have your phone so you grab a pen and a notebook and start franticly writing knowing you're gonna have to re-type all of that...
You know what I especially liked about Dragon Age pre Inquisition? No one was morally good. No companion was shown as "being right" and "being good" and even the NPCs and general world is fucked up in a way that makes no one "good". Like yeah okay, we all agree the Mages and the Elves are suffering a lot, but it didn't stop A LOT of characters within those groups to be pretty bad ! And like, idk, I feel like the game finds a lot of excuses even for the bad guys... Like Origins never goes out of it's way to be like "nooo but waaiittt, Loghain is saaddd actuallyyyy, like, pweeaasseee, be nice to him):" like everyone agrees he fucked up ! Even himself! The game makes him own up to those mistakes! And it's... Idk man... I liked how you couldn't live in this world and be wholly "good" because the games made a point you'd always have biases
I'll forever hold a grudge at Origins for showing you times and times again Jowan is getting manipulated left and right, and still giving you no option to be understanding of his situation, even as a mage, fucking nuts, that's my bestie you stoopid fucks
I don't think we talk enough about how Leliana's "dream" in Origins (like in the Fade) was to be in the Chantry basically for ever and not get a say about anything really... Like you don't talk to her at any point in this section, the demon that took the form of the reverend mother does all the talking. And each of those "dreams" are implied to really be nightmares because what the characters "want" will ultimately stop them from growing or achieving a better future. And you know why I bring that up? Because her dream is the only one (as far as I'm aware) that actually becomes real. Inquisition tells you "yeah ! She actually went to the Divine ! And it's terrible horrible bad because she's become a horrible person !", but yeah the Divine was literally nice right?
Just finished DA2 and like the final fight is insane, especially if you think of it thematically (wdym Meredith sends the slave statue agains't us... that's so important thematically...), but somehow the only thing I remember is Zevran showing up just because LMAO Not even Alistair or Leliana- I love him so much, good hearted elf assassin
