Hilu! Saw your comment on the PCOS post and I believe the big discovery is the Location of the hormones! They assumed for a long time that it was the hormones in the uterus/ovaries causing the problem, but they're learning it's likely in the brain instead!

When it's back up - I've heard pillowfort is a damn good alternative, devs have said they have no intent on limiting NSFW art. I've checked it out before they took it down for a couple days (fixing security issues) and it seems pretty easy to use :o

ive heard mixed things about the site so i’ll be waiting on solid reviews and feedback instead of jumping ship right away. it’s one i’ve known about for a good many years now. has never piqued my interest tho

Thanks, my mom and my sis picked me up this morning, I’m now home with my partner and our baby cat. I’m so so glad to (hopefully) never have to eat hospital food again.

Thank you very much. Yeah it was one hell of a run but it turned out okay in the end! At least the ER staff listened and they were all very nice to me. Though if I never see a serynge again, it’ll be too soon XD I’m very much done with that.

Honestly, he’s the smart one of the two XD They said I should refrain from intensive physical efforts for the next few weeks but I should be able to go back to my regular schedule of crying over fictional characters and dollmaking fairly soon.

Yeah it was pretty scary but I’m alright now. Mom’s coming over tomorrow to help me around the house (I have... a lot... of cleaning up to do) and my partner is pampering me. And I have like 20000 people offering to visit and help. I have zero spoons to entertain anyone though so XD

I guess he just didn’t really care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think I saw posts floating around about how afab people’s pain is often treated less seriously. “Pain in the lower belly region = hysterical whining girl” is apparently still a thing. I’m lucky the intern listened to me and actually made me pass tests. And I sure am glad to be one organ lighter now!

Yeah it was kinda scary after a while. I know they went as fast as they could (my tests were pretty bad) to figure out wtf was wrong with me, because I didn’t have the usual appendicitis symptoms. But waiting for hours on end in a waiting room, curled up on a stretcher and hooked on painkillers that just removed the edge of the pain was... stressful and unpleasant, lol. I’m being pampered by everyone and my kitty cat is cuddling me so everything is fine now <3

-hugs tight- I'm sorry you've been through shit in the medical field :( I can't imagine things being that bad for me, and I'm SO glad your surgery went well <3 I hope you recover well and that things continue going well.

Thank you.  Truly.  Thank you.  I’m very angry, probably always will be, have every right to be, and am really offended by the idea that I should have to pay for their mistakes by keeping quiet about being hurt. The idea that I should have to pretend not to be scared to make sure that they don’t mistreat me is monstrous, frankly, and I am not here for it at all.

As for the recovery, I’m bouncing like a rubber ball.  Some minor discomfort, but can I just say that Dr. Rachel Gibbs in Tulsa is amazing, her nurse Jenn Kinsler is amazing, and my Da Vinci LAVH (transvaginal) hysterectomy is amazing.  I feel amazing.  Just amazing.

Like, without painkillers, and with the exception of if I hold off on going to the bathroom too long, my pain hasn’t been above a 2.

They took my cervix and everything north of it, and I have not been in real pain.

Is that unbelievable or what?  I got SCIENCED by wonderful people, hospital staff were astonishingly compassionate, and I came out of it with more trust than I went in, which is really nice.

So I truly do appreciate doctors and nurses and the wonderful shit they do.  I . . . honestly struggle to express how much some have helped me.

But I also know alllllll the fuck about other shit they do, and I’ve been treated badly as often as I’ve been treated well, so I don’t get to go into most appointments without having to think about every time I’ve been kicked in the teeth.

The really bad shit creeps up on me and drools on my neck just about every day (less, recently), but boy do docs not like to hear about it even once.
