I wish we got to see more interactions between hickey & fitzjames. I was rewatching yesterday and during the scene where hickey & friends get interrogated after kidnapping silna, I was getting this vibe of “guy who is full of shit sussing out another guy who is full of shit” and it’s so funny & interesting to me idk, they have certain similarities. they’re both concealing their origins. they’re both very ambitious, they talk themselves up, will suck up to people to get ahead, but they’re also men who’ll take action. fitzjames wanted them to go and get silna immediately but crozier ordered that they wait until morning, meanwhile hickey is out there doing what fitzjames wanted at that very moment. and you also see both of them take charge to get people out of the fire at carnivale. idk where im going with this. I guess really the main thing that separates them is their social class
