@maggiemay124: All I can here with the second one is Bender saying “I’m back, babah!”
@collabwithmyself: OHHHHH I LOVE THSI THANK YOU THANK YOU TH
I started following you for that good good taz content, and I love all your fics for that, then about a year a go I drifted away from taz and got hooked on Ace Attorney, and only JUST NOW am I realizing that you wrote one of my favorite nm fics (Coffee or Tea). Who are you and why do you know me so well?
Oh heck yeah dude, what are the chances! That's some really amazing timing, I don't even know if I'VE been in the fandom for a year yet - but I am fully in it now, I have a dozen favorites and they've given me emotions several times. I have feelings about these lawyers. These lawyers have been THROUGH SOME STUFF, MY DUDE. Let them nap And I'm super glad you like the fic! Coffee or Tea was just me watching T&T thinking "oh I've gotta write some fic RIGHT NOW" and then I did and I just never stopped
Chat Noir: I know, I’m a real asset.
Ladybug: You’re only off by two letters.

Hello! You added to a post a while ago about the importance of not pirating books, and since you mentioned you are an author who is affected by this, I thought you could answer a question I have. How do copies of books end up online before their official releases? I don’t know much about the publishing process...
Sure! As part of the marketing process, the publisher sends out what are called galleys, or proofs, to various people so they can read and review the book prior to publication. A galley is usually the final draft of the book (meaning all the plot points and writing are essentially done), but before all of the copyediting is finished, so there may be a few changes between the galley and the final version--things like punctuation, style usage, occasional small text changes.
It’s why you’ll see book reviews quoted on a new book’s jacket, or you’ll see another author praising the book. It’s also why in places like Goodreads, books will have reviews before the release date--that’s part of the plan! (Of course, that can backfire if all of the early readers hate it... but I’ve been lucky in that respect so far. *knocks wood*)
Galleys can be an actual print copy, almost always softcover, maybe with the cover art, but sometimes with just a plain paper cover with just the title information. The hard copy galley of Vessel looks like this (and lemme tell you, I squealed when I got mine):
Galleys also come in ebook versions. There are websites where reviewers and/or book bloggers can request copies of a book from the publisher, and if the publisher thinks the reviewer/blogger is legit, they’ll probably approve it. And sometimes those galleys wind up online. I don’t know how it happens, if there are unscrupulous folks posing as reliable book bloggers, or what. There’s been a few cases of hard copy galleys winding up places like eBay, but it’s rare.
Book pirating is really really hard to crack down on, since once it crops up on one site, it quickly goes to others. It’s kind of like whack-a-mole. :(
Ok so I’ve been following you since the days of space grumps and whatnot, and recently you’ve gotten *super* into jacksepticeye. I’ve never really watched much of his stuff (I’ve got the jist, anti plus a dozen other egos all wrecking shop) but I’m not up to speed on what’s been happening recently. I don’t suppose you could catch me up? Or maybe just point me in the right direction of what I should watch?
*takes a long drag of cigar* space grumps? i havent heard that name in 15 years....but holy shit thats awesome!! and yeaaa jacksepticeye is my Jam Right Now
there’s so much stuff to catch up on i rEALLY dont think im able to help im really sorry.
i’d watch the stories untold series because not only is it good but its a good starting point.
Pick up on any other cool languages since the animal plane? Any you and Lup still use?
Y’know, it’s kinda a funny story, actually. You know how twins sometimes come up with their own languages? Yea, that was me and Lulu as kids, we had our own thing going on. S’not like we use it that much anymore, but, eh, once in a while.
But what was the question? Languages, oh, right, cool cool cool. Okay, so, cha’boy knows like, uhhhhh couple half-dozen give or take, and I can read a handful more. Not gonna list em cause hey. Taako’s a busy elf. I got things to do!
But most recently, I got Joaquin teachin’ me Spanish. He thinks its the fucking funniest thing that he’s teachin’ an elf named Taako Spanish, the lil’ shit. I’m tradin’ him magic lessons. Don’t want him blowin’ up any buildings not on purpose, you dig?
This may have already been asked, and if so you can disregard. Question about turntrans Nick... did MvK have him wearing colored contacts? It kinda looks like your aa1 design has same colored eyes, and aa2 has different, but it’s hard to tell when the pupils are small? Also I’m on mobile and have bad eyesight, so that might be it
His eyes are in fact different colors! The small pupils and desaturated colors hide it, but it's actually a plot point at the end of the next case, 1-3: The Transfixed Turnabout!
