i love new high school graduates in community college because they will claim astronomy is going to be an easy class with no sense of irony at all

like honey those "easy A" classes will be the ones to break you the most

See this is when american college makes no sense to me. When we go to college, we pick a subject we want to study, say in my case visual communication, and then there's a curriculum you must complete to get your qualification. We don't get to choose classes or anything like that. Very occasionally if you're like me and @assassinatemybuthol, if you've already done a class in a different course, you have that credit so if it comes up in another course you don't have to take it again (like we took photography while studying one course, so we didn't have to take it again when we changed courses) but that's it

I can see why "easy a" classes would lull people into a false sense of security though!

i think the younger Gen Z have a warped sense of the difference between being middle/upper middle class and being actually rich

like there's a difference between loving comfortably and activly profiting off of capitalism

LMAO, for sure darling.

I started watching SPN from day one and had no idea that people were shipping Dean and Castiel until I got to tumblr midway through season SEVEN.

piggy backing off the last ask because you'll notice a lot of my fics involve a lot of self discovery of being gay and not knowing if your best friend feels the same and then falling in love in the end because that was a really big part of my self discovery because i feel in love with my best friend and spent four years trying to come to terms with being bisexual and wondering if i ever had a chance with her (i did but i blew it due to anxiety and unresolved trauma we last like twenty four hours before i called it off)

like we write what we know and we write for those who also went through it. I've gotten comment saying they appreciated how i delt with coming out because they went through the same thing and it was very cathartic so read their favorite characters going through the same thing as they did and feel that representation they don't get in the general media.

we don't write for everyone we write for the select few who can appreciate and understand the words and feelings we put out and can feel comfort knowing they're not alone and feel represented.

I cannot over-emphasise how much THIS i feel. Honestly you hit the nail on the head. What on the surface may seem like a silly smutty escapist fic can have such deep deep roots, and that deserves to be respected regardless of how little one can see above ground
