Imagine a sterek Howl’s Moving Castle AU where Stiles is the quiet son of the local hat-maker who is too anxious to step outside. But on May Day, he goes to see his best friend, Scott, and he’s confronted by two men who have had a bit to much to drink and are looking for a little fun. Stiles is swept off his feet (quite literally) by an handsome stranger who comes to his rescue.
This, however, becomes a problem; the Witch of the Waste (Jennifer) is jealous and puts a spell on Stiles, ageing him horribly and leaving him unable to tell anyone about the spell. Unsure of what to do, Stiles sets off and walks out of his small town, not knowing where he’s going until night begins to settle and his finds himself standing before the legendary moving castle and longing for the warmth of a fire. Despite the rumours of the Wizard Derek and against his better judgement, Stiles enters the castle. He settles down by the fire, talking to it and dreaming that it talked back. Suddenly, he realises he’s not dreaming and the fire is talking.
The fire demon, Boyd (maybe?), makes a deal that he will study Stiles’ curse and break it if Stiles agrees to do the same for the contract he has forged with Derek, but he cannot talk about the contract nor tell Stiles how to break it. So Stiles agrees to stay around.
When Derek returns to the castle, Stiles offers his service as a caretaker: cleaning the house, cooking meals, all that sort of stuff. Derek doesn’t acknowledge him, but nor does he turn him out. So Stiles stays, and soon gets caught up in a whole mess of adventures.
But Stiles is not alone in the house, he also has to deal with Isaac, the orphaned boy that Derek took in as his apprentice and who is an eager learner of sorcery.
Slowly, he begins to unravel the mystery that is Derek and seeks to save the heartbroken, heartless man from the cursed contract that binds him and Boyd.
