An English Tarot Alphabet

The 22 cards of the major arcana correlate directly with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. However, I do not work in languages I cannot read or write myself, for obvious reasons, so I’ve created this chart for any English speakers looking to incorporate an alternative to alpha numerology. The Hebrew alphabet contains no vowels, so they have been removed from the equation here as well. #0 The Fool was dropped off because of this, but if you really wish I would recommend correlating then vowels to the four aces leaving the letter I for the fool.

Remove the vowels and repeating letters from your name and write it out in card form. I am: the tower, temperance and the sun. Aka, disruption as evolution. The cause and the effect. What are you?

Daniel Higgs, formerly of the band Lungfish, is often referred to as a musical shaman. It seems fitting, then, that he would have an album devoted solely to one of the most ancient and mystical instruments, the jaw harp. The harp you see on this album cover is European in origin. But in one form or another these instruments can be found in many parts of Asia, West Africa, and in the Southern Appalachians - of both African and European origin.  The mouth bow of African origin is a relative of the diddley bow (yep, that's where Bo Diddley got his name), which played a part in the development of slide guitar. All of these instruments have one thing in common: they use the player's mouth cavity - after all the place from which language arises - as the resonating chamber. It doesn't get any more mystical than that, kids.
