Nate’s voice cut through the static of the alarms. “All right, listen up. We’re burned on the east exit. Security’s locking down the elevators. We pivot to Plan M.”
Hardison groaned so loud it echoed off the walls. “—Nope.”
Nate blinked, mid-step toward the stairs. “Excuse me?”
“Mm, mm. Absolutely not,” Hardison said, waving his hands like he could physically swat the idea away. “Hard pass. Negative. Delete the M. Archive it. Burn it.”
Parker’s voice chimed in cheerfully over comms. “Plan M is the one where you die.”
“Thank you, Parker!” Hardison barked, throwing his hands up so fast he almost knocked over his laptop. “See? Institutional memory!”
