Hiya! I know you’ve talked about growing up and speaking multiple languages so I can’t help but ask, which languages do you get tongue tied the most in? Love from Scotland!

Yes, I do in fact get tongue-tied all the time, no matter what language I’m speaking. But the ones I get the most tongue-tied would have to be Polish, English, Icelandic, Russian, Czech, and Hungarian.

Some of the words and phonetics throw me off sometimes when I’m talking particularly fast, and then I start stuttering and have to collect myself. It kinda feels like my brain and tongue glitches whenever it happens lmao 😅

Do you ever mix languages mid-sentence without realizing it?

Yes, and I just recently found out that there’s actually a term for it!

It’s called Polyspeak, I believe.

It’s where someone who grew up speaking multiple languages or was around a lot of diverse languages when they were younger subconsciously speak multiple languages at once.

I think it’s a neurological thing too, when you’re influenced by languages, especially when you’re a little kid, your brain automatically switches between languages like clockwork.

So, since I grew up with people constantly speaking multiple different languages at a time, it’s only logical that I as a little kid would pick up on it and start using it in my day to day life too.

And it’s also in my culture, to teach and learn the languages from my ancestors and heritage, even though mine is extremely complex and diverse!

Ok, I already asked AFAC this, but their blog gets a lot more asks then yours and I’m curious what your position on this question would be in the context of your AU(since parts of world building in AFAC like ghosts and wisps do differ between the two AU’s)

If healing magic is based on sympathy for the person your healing would it be possible for someone to be good at healing other people and bad at healing themselves or vice versa, since there are many people that are sympathetic and forgiving towards others and very hard on themselves.

Actually yes! Magic is based largely on your feelings and especially how you feel about the other person. Healing your best friend is going to be a lot easier than Healing someone who was mean to you in elementary. It takes sooo much more effort.

And if you have negative feelings towards yourself :( it will certainly be harder to heal your own wounds.

I indulged myself this afternoon and re-watched the third episode of the second season of ‘Hilda’, ‘The Witch’. It has everything I have ever wanted - mysterious libraries with infinite secret rooms, witches librarian (or librarian witches) and a dash of adventure. The witch tower, in particular, is how I imagine Domdaniel looks like - rows and rows of books, stairs that lead everywhere and nowhere at once and magic flowing through every room. And Stanley Tucci as the Master of Black reading in a corner with a steaming hot cup of tea in his hand, snickering to himself every few lines. 

@sylviefromneptune I love Stanley Tucci so much, and I think he should be in everything, observing, even in silence. I have not seen Hilda, but it looks like a delight, and now I have to move it up the list.

And I have to get back to Disarranged. Too many WiP, not enough time.
