Summary:
Donald can sense magic, and this... doesn't change much at all. (And then, all at once, it does.)
A collection of doodles, drawings and sketches for a crossover AU idea I've had bouncing around my head since October. Some from a little sketchbook I carry around with me, and a few are actually workdoodles.
More than a few are me working out thoughts and ideas for the story. Thought I'd finally get around to posting them all.
I can’t remember what all headcanons I’ve spoken about but here we go!
- Now that KH3 has come out I can safely say that Donald is the most powerful magic user :D Suck it, Magica.
- Donald is the only one at that level of magic. Gladstone has a passive magic (his luck) and Della took more after the McDucks so has very little magic herself. Fethry has no magic, but is very knowledgeable about it anyway and probably knows more than even Donald does.
- Donald chose to stop using his magic for personal reasons. What those reasons are I’m not sure- maybe someone he cared about deeply got hurt, or he blamed it for something that happened in his life, or he just wanted his nephews to live a normal life. Maybe he found out magic was corrupting and the temptation that came with such power was just too much. Maybe he was afraid. Whatever his reasons, he just doesn’t use it anymore (yet, now that Magica’s back for good he might reconsider).
- Huey, Dewey and Louie inherited magic, but not a lot. They can’t do magic the way Donald can. I personally like to give them elements, with Huey = Fire, Dewey = Water, and Louie = Flora (plants or whatever).
- Scrooge doesn’t like magic, and therefore Donald, Della and their cousins never told him about Donald’s magic. Despite this, Scrooge knows a lot about magic and makes exceptions whenever he wants to (such as his magic defenses and magical artifacts), and even knows enough to counter spells and curses like when Magica attempted to trap him in his dime the first time.
- Duckworth, who lived with them and even helped Scrooge raise Donald and Della, knows about the magic. Beakley put the pieces together later on, on her own.
- Webby doesn’t know yet but she is looking into it. However, she does know about Huey, Dewey and Louie’s magic, as they confided in her after becoming close friends. She knows better than to tell anyone.
- Magica knows Donald has magic, but she doesn’t know just how powerful he is. Lena, on the other hand, had a feeling Donald could do much more than she could…
- Also, his magic is how he managed to adventure while being a superhero (and later a spy). None of his companions knew about it, but Uno was suspicious that something weird was going on, because some things just didn’t add up.
