We’ve been big fans of the art of printmaking for as long as we can remember. Much of the inspiration for our labels comes from the creativity found on concert posters. In fact, several years ago, we teamed up with printmaker Jim Pollock, who gained fame by creating many of Phish’s memorable concert posters. He designed a label for our amber lager, Vinyl, as well as prints for our annual Mardi Gras Parade two years in a row.

We just caught wind of this new book from Marcroy Smith and Andy Cooke titled, “People of Print - Innovative, Independent Design and Illustration” and from the few examples we’ve seen, it’s beautiful.

Oh, and speaking of Vinyl, we’ve had a hankering for a scrumptious amber lager lately. Could there be one in our future?

World, meet Norbert. He's a husband, father and grandfather, and math runs in his family. Both his daughter and his grandson are into numbers. This is an important fact because Norbert's grandson, Kevin, recently calculated the odds of his grandfather opening a bottle of Magic Hat and getting the cap that reads, "Hey Norbert!" which he did. 

Check out the second photo there for all the calculations. Long story short, Kevin figures "this event was so unlikely that it will only occur roughly 2 and half times out of ten billion!  Put in another way, that's 1 in every 4,166,666,667. This is far less likely than winning the lottery -- you're nearly 100 times more likely to win the NYS Lottery!"
