Lyney stared at the girl on the ground, his hand held out to her. His eyes quickly scanned over her face then quickly snapped out of it.
"Sorry about that!" Her hand took his and he carefully hauled her up as carefully. Silence passed between them and the girl suddenly dropped down to a crouch to pick her books up. Quickly crouching down beside her, he grabbed three of her books and stood up.
"Mila! Come on! We gotta get our schedules!" Charlitte waved to the brown red girl, Lyney looking over finding Lynette giving him a quick wave.
Lifting his hand, he waved back. "C-Can I have those back?" Perking up, he looked down at the girl beside him and handed her back the books.
He had completely forgotten she was there, seeing his sister made him happy and even more so the fact that she was hanging out with friends.
As he handed the books back, his eyes wandered over the girl. Mila's face. Brown red hair that reached down to her waist and seemed to have curls at the ends.
A pair of sapphire blue eyes that were locked on her books..
And were now suddenly looking up at him
Wait....SHE'S LOOKING AT HIM.
"Thank you"Mila smiled nodding to him. Clearing his throat, he nodded to her giving her a small smile.
"It's my pleasure to help a lovely lady like yourself, a beauty with that of a rose"Lyney smiled making a rose appear out of thin air.
He offered it to her then made it disappear when she reached for it.
"Oh!"Mila gasped surprised. Lyney held his hands up to show her they were empty and carefully reached forward with one hand.
"It was behind your ear"Lyney smiled making the rose appear once more. He held it out, then dodged again and placed the flower in her hair.
Mila stared at him wide eyed, looking stunned for a moment. Giggling followed, a wide smile appearing on the girls face. "That was amazing!"Mila praised.
Chiori made her way over, ushering Mila away. "Oh bye!"Mila calls waving to Lyney.
Lyney smiled and waved back, finding himself still waving even after she vanished into the crowd.
"You started flirting out of nowhere!" Childe wrapped an arm around his shoulders, grinning at him. "A smooth talker you are, bud!"
Lyney hid his face in his hands. He couldn't believe that he just started flirting with someone he just met. It was a spur of the moment because he saw her smiling before and wanted to see it again.
"W-Where did Albedo go?"Lyney asks quickly changing the subject.
"Oh, he and Rumi split up because both had to go to different areas but Albedo's sisters arrived-" Lyney perked up at that, having forgotten Albedo had four little sisters.
Goldina was Albedo's twin sister and the two got along like peanut butter and jelly, even though she tended to sass her brother at times. The girl was attending Teyvat High School as well and hung out with Amber, Bennett, and Razor.
Minata was blinded in a fire that caught her home and set it aflame, Albedo convinced his adoptive mother to take her in and had been taking care of her since then. He even got her enrolled into Teyvat Middle School Academy.
Elizia and Klee were the biological daughters of the woman who took care of Albedo, one was ten and the other was at least seven. Both girls were filled with energy and Lyney has seen first hand how much Albedo struggled with them sometimes.
"What happens in this apartment, stays in this apartment." That was what Albedo told him when his two sisters snatched some of his hair out during play fighting.
Lyney felt so lucky to have calmer younger siblings. Freminet was quiet and kept to his own devices, same with Lynette who enjoyed her peace and quiet with a side of tea.
Freya also attends Teyvat Middle School Academy alongside Albedo's sister, Minata, but she was a second year there.
His other sister, Angelina, attended Teyvat High School but she avoided Freminet, Lynette and him for some reason. She was always seen wandering around with Chevruse, Furina and Ayaka.
Then there were the two youngest siblings, Leena and Lynelo, that his "Father" had found and taken in.
Leena and Lynelo were currently attending Teyvat Elementary School under "Mother's" suggestion and said that they couldn't wait for their first day.
"I see, is he chasing them around?"Lyney asks walking beside Childe. A flash of white caught his attention, immediately spotting Albedo chasing after three laughing girls.
A smile made its way onto his face when he noticed Albedo had a small smile on his face during the chase.
"Seems like he's got it!"
Gaming's voice made him flinch as they entered the auditorium. "Sorry bud!"Gaming laughed.
"Hey guys, I was looking for ya!" Sethos made his way over and smiled at them, giving them a quick nod.
Sethos, 4th year, boyfriend to Habina a girl on the cheerleading squad.
"Sethos, this is your final year, we're gonna miss you!"Childe sighs being dramatic as ever. Laughter came from Sethos and the male shook his head.
"Did you guys hear the news?"Sethos asks placing his hands on his hips.
That peaked the trio's interest, all eyes on Sethos now wondering what he was gonna say.
"One of the teachers is expecting a baby, the girls went wild, squealing and all that, never seen my Habina so happy"Sethos informs chuckling.
"Which teacher?"Gaming asks curiously.
Lyney gasped in surprise that Ms Shuli from Art Class was expecting a baby. "That's great, I'm happy for them!"Gaming grinned clapping as he laughed.
Sethos nodded then perked up and looked at the stage.
"Hello Students, I am your Vice Principal, Jean! We welcome students back to the school and we welcome the freshmen here as well!!"Jean greets holding the mic.
"Freshmen, get your schedules on the right side of the auditorium then go to your first period! At the end of the school day your first period is the class you return to! Ms Ei, Mr Zhongli and Ms Shuli will hand you your schedules!"
Lyney walked with the crowd, Childe beside him as the duo made their way to the right side, listening as Jean continued to speak.
"2nd and 3rd years, you go up the steps to the second floor, Ms Lisa, Mr Kaeya and Mr Neuvillette have your schedules for this school year!"
Childe waved to the others and walked away to the stairs, a smile on his face. Albedo walked after Childe, his sister beside him, both sharing a bag of Mini Poptarts.
"4th years go to the left side of the auditorium, Ms Eula, Ms Sara, and Ms Navia are there to give you your schedules!"
Lyney looked back, spotting Sethos jogging over to two of his friends. Tighnari and Cyno if he was correct, fellow 4th years who are friends with the two graduates Alhaitham and Kaveh.
"Those of you who did not receive your schedule or yours are not at the area you're supposed to head to, come see me, Mr Wriothesley or Ms Clorinde for help!"
Jean placed the mic back on the stand, hurrying over to Wriothesley and Clorinde who had a few papers in hand that they set down with other paper stacks.
Lyney perked up, spotting his sister and her group of friends all with their schedules. Blond hair made him perk up, realizing that another student had joined them as well.
"Come on, Lyney!"Gaming beckons hurrying over to one of the tables.
Shuli beamed at them when they approached and looked through the stack of papers. "Give me a second, little ones."
Lyney smiled at the woman, now seeing why she was among the many favorites in the school.
According to what Sethos told him, nobody knows how Baizhu managed to bag such a woman like Ms Shuli and have questioned him but got no answer. Now she was expecting a baby and once this got out, students are gonna be even more curious.
Since Nurse Baizhu has poor health...
"I don't have it, sweethearts-"Shuli started. A hand held out two schedules, Ei nodding to Shuli giving her a small smile. "I had them."
Shuli gave Ei a grateful smile, taking the schedules and handing them to the two boys. "Have fun!"Shuli giggled beaming at them.
Lyney waved to her, heading off to see if he could catch his sister or possibly Freminet or Angelina.
Jean hurried and grabbed the Mic again, "Once you've received your schedules, head to your first period, don't forget to grab some breakfast bags on the way!"
"All of you have a good first day!"
Lyney headed out beside Gaming, the two comparing their schedules. "We have first period together, along with Art, Science and Math."
Gaming perked up and beamed, "Oh, we got lunch together as well!!"
Lyney laughed and nodded to his friend, walking beside him.
Albedo walked over with Childe and Sethos trailing after him. The group headed down the hallway, finding out that they had two joint classes today.
Joint classes had been added to the school, 4th and 3rd year have a few joint classes together while the 1st and 2nd years have the same.
Sometimes the teachers would mix things around so the different grades could interact and learn from one another.
"Hey for sixth period we have a joint class with 4th years!"Gaming gasped.
"Hey, we might see each other!"Sethos chuckled. The male perked up and dashed away, his pupils practically turning into hearts when he spotted his girlfriend at her locker. "HABINA!!"
Habina laughed when he hugged her and swayed her around playfully a smirk on his face.
"Let's go before they start eating each other's faces"Aether suggests. Everyone gasped, having forgotten he was there. Aether gave them an offended look, holding his schedule.
Lyney patted his back, giving him an apologetic smile. "Sorry buddy!"
"You guys forgot about me, so quick!"Aether sniffled fake crying, rubbing his eyes with his free hand.
Childe laughed and shook his head amused at the males antics, the group quickly comparing schedules with Aether only to find out the freshman boys only had art class with him.
Childe had a joint science class with Aether and Albedo has a join math class with him.
"Alright, we'll see you guys later!"Lyney says waving to them, hurrying away with Gaming. Aether waved to them, heading the other way down the hall.
"Honestly, I have no idea what was going through my brothers mind earlier." Charlotte laughed, smiling at Lynette who had still been confused about earlier.
"Honestly, that flirt attempt was a little tacky, he could do better"Chiori comments waving her hand unamused.
Mila giggled, her books now in a sidebag that were being passed out by a few other teachers.
After leaving the auditorium, she and her friends wandered around the halls a bit and were now on their way to class.
A new friend had joined them as well, a boy she and her friends had bumped into on the way out.
She looked back and smiled at the boy. "You doing okay?"
Mika laughed and smiled at her, a hand rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry!"Mika chuckles making sure she was assured he was alright.
"It's crazy that we have the same first period!"Charlotte beamed smiling at them all.
"I enrolled late, so be grateful for that otherwise we wouldn't be friends"Chiori says.
They all looked at her with knowing looks, knowing that they'd have become friends even if she were a 2nd year.
The group entered their classroom, finding their professor there ready. "Ah, hello kids, I'm Professor Yelan!"
Mila sat at one of the desks by the window, her friends sitting with her, all of them smiling.
"I brought snacks!"Mika smiled pulling some stuff out.
"No, no, NO!"Chiori gasped taking the green frosted donuts from him "Do you know how disgusting these are, online these donuts are rated 1/10!"
"People say they taste like garbage waste!"
Mika perked up startled, Mila covering her mouth looking surprised.
"Gross"Lynette frowned recognizing the donuts now.
"Those do look gross..."Charlotte chuckled cringing a little.
Chiori quickly threw the donut away and made a disgusted face as she sat down.
The group looked over finding Lyney walking in with another person behind him. "Sit anywhere you'd like, Freshman History will begin soon"Yelan smiled gesturing away.
Lyney turned around and froze, his eyes widening when he spotted them.
He smiled and hid his face with his hands, shuffling to a desk at the very front, his confused friend sitting beside him. Both started to whisper in quick hushed tones.
"He's definitely crushing on you"Lynette comments.
The bell rung as the rest of class arrived, Yelan standing up and facing them all.
