Arthur pendragon the boy born of magic and Merlin the boy born with magic
Uther Pendragon’s son being the product of his own greed and desperation and selfishness
Merlin being the product of all restricted magic needing to go SOMEWHERE and become SOMETHING
Both of them created for themselves but meant for each other in every way
Merlin is literally too kind for his own good. More proof the show is about human love and not living out some pie in the sky destiny
K but I kinda don't like how in 3x08 Arthur is courage Gwaine is strength and Merlin is... magic? like it reinforces merlins idea that all he's worth is his magic. that his only purpose is to use his powers for this great destiny. while Arthur and Gwaine are valued for who they are, Merlin is reduced down to what he can do for others? kinda rude

Magic boy,
Open your wings
And show the world
What it is like
To be magic
Itself.
Little poem and edit I made because I have never been so inspired like since I finished Merlin.
I don't know where i read it but i saw something about Merlin being clumsy because of his magic. he's so focused on keeping this massive power in check that he's, well, less than coordinated in the real world.
but when he's out in the forest or with another sorcerer, maybe he's actually really graceful. maybe there's a glimpse of that all powerful warlock we've been hearing about. hmmm...
