A school-wide announcement sent via pendant by Deputy Headmistress Emaline Goode on June 13, 2017 :
Attention students!
It has recently come to the attention of the staff that a new trend has popped up among the student body, one that is most dangerous.
Several Sixth Year students were caught with half-empty packs of Double Tex brand cigarettes. The staff had hoped the clouds of multi-colored smoke coming from behind the Herbology greenhouses were just the North American Rainbow Puffers that the Seventh Year students are studying in Care of Magical Creatures).
I will take this opportunity to remind you all that tobacco of any kind is completely banned from the Ilvermorny campus. I would have thought that this would have been apparent, but sometimes, reminders are necessary.
Please, think clearly and logically, as we expect all of our students to do. Regardless of the fact that Double Tex cigarettes are magical, they are not safe. Nicotine is highly addictive and detrimental to your health, as well as the people who choose to be around you.
