Do you have physics in xadia? I mean I figure you have something like it. I'm suffering in physics right now akdnajf don't take your hardest class at 8am.
Yes, starling, the basic laws of physics still apply. However, we have two versions of physics: the boring kind, and the kind you get when you include magic.
Physics is simply the study of matter, energy, and force. And the thing is, those change with magic. For example, normal physics would state that you can blow out a candle three inches away, but not a candle three feet away. You simply cannot blow that hard. Yet with Aspiro, it's quite simple to blow out a candle three feet away or more.
Or take mage wings. By any law of aviation, a creature so large as an elf should not be able to fly with wings that small. Yet, through magic, the laws of physics change!
I could explain magiphysics in more depth if you would like, though from the tone of your query I would guess you would not prefer that-- and I am not sure I am the best at explaining. I wish you much luck in your classes!
--could you get extra credit by turning in an essay on magical physics? I could assist you in writing it.
[mun says: look I've been thinking about magic + physics for YEARS now-- granted, I mostly use my own magic system, but it's not that big of a stretch.]
