I dont know if folks here has played Magium. The story of protagonist named Barry. I remember playing it extensively during covid timeline. I recently discovered that author died of suicide. He had cancer. "I am sorry, I had cancer" he wrote in his suicide note. I was not aware of it. It is a shock. It shouldn't have happened. CYOA stories by Sam Landerstorm alongside Magium were one of my favourites. I just dont know what to say right now. There is a lot of nostalgia involved. I think I accidentally joined a niche fandom today

Magium, online Choose Your Own Adventure game. And HOLY SHIT have I been drawn into it. Currently on Book 1 Chapter 11

The characters are written so well. No typical RPG "let's form a travel party!" BS. Everyone in the story has a good reason for travelling with the protag.

Impactful choices? Hell yeah there are. Are you competent enough to take on an army alone? How about a dragon? These actions DO have consequences. Some important characters can just be killed. Tough shit. Do better next time.

Only problem? Not a big enough community. I want more fanart. Animations. I want this shit to blow up.

I totally recommend it! I am in Chapter 11 and truth be told it takes a LOT for me to really get into games like this. If the writing is poor it is a major turn off for me. It is completely free unless you want to pay to remove ads (you literally can access the other books by getting awards in the game) which is so cool!

Literally super good stuff. They even have a character called Flower and while she doesn't have DID, I feel like the way she functions with a character named Petal/Illuna is so similar to DID in a great way. In Chapter 11 there is a situation involving slavery though. That is a big thing I wanna say bur essentially you can absolutely decimate a rich asshole in that moment which is hella rad.

I normally am not hyped for games like this but it genuinely is great so far. The cast is diverse and fun to read about!

Is this even active ? Because I cannot see the date , forgive me for that. Now I wanted to ask what do you people think about the romance options , especially Kate and as she is going to be romancable in the last book of the series so do you think it's going to be a bit more engaging than all the other options because to me Kate seems like the most ideal woman for Barry ?Others are good but Kate is perfect
