The fact that Ayaka is Sayaka’s specific target implies that, of all of the idols, Ayaka was probably the one Sayaka was closest to. This is especially poignant since Ayaka is stated to be the least popular member of the group, as opposed to Sayaka, the most popular – the fact that all of the friends in the group considered each other both friends and rivals could’ve made for a deeply complex relationship, but despite (or because of!) that, they were obviously very close.
Have you seen Ayaka’s stage outfit. It’s basically a bathing suit. Sayaka did that because she thinks her gf’s hot

This ship hinges on the fact that Mahiru is without question the most normal person in SDR2 and that Chiaki is without question absolutely batshit when considered in any real world context

These two are very dedicated to encouraging their class to be social, and you can really see it in the way that Mahiru organizes girl’s days in SDR2, and Chiaki organizes a game day in DR3 – in UTDP, they even get together to hold a day off for the girls of their class while everyone’s stressing about finals. They would be KILLER hosts, once Chiaki learned how parties work.
