whhhat quadrant do you reckon would work best between an overly chaotic Thief of Time and very strict Maid of Void? :P

Okay, interesting question. Of course, I should be begin by saying romance is subjective and the product of more factors than just personality. However, I will do my best to answer your question

Now, as I lack a Nepeta to aid me on this, please take this all with a grain of salt.

Note that I am not including Austpisticism as it requires a third party is sort of the opposite of a ship.

QUADRANT #1: MATESPRITS ♥️

The Flush quadrant is the closest to human romance- two individuals who love each other and make each other happy. Now, I don't feel that our Thief & Maid make particularly good Matesprits- the chaotic nature of the ToT clashes severely with the MoV's strictness in a way that wouldn't really be conductive to a healthy relationship between the two.

QUADRANT #2: MOIRAILS ♦️

The Pale quadrant is sometimes viewed as close to the human concept of a queerplatonic relationship, but this isn't entirely correct. Moirails are two people who calm each other down & help each other deal with their problems in a "pile" session. The distinction between them and matesprits can be wibbly-wobbly sometimes, but think of the difference between a romantic partner and a close friend. Now, for similar reasons as the Flush quadrant, this just doesn't work between the two- in fact, it may even be worse.

As we've see here, neither redrom quadrant seems to work here. Though, my word is not law- I'm a Mind Player, after all.

QUADRANT #3: KISMESIS

Kismesis- the nemesis that you kiss. This quadrant isn't really all that hard to understand- think about all the Passion that goes into a Flush romance, but translate that passion into hate and not love. Simples. Now, this quadrant is the first I can see working out between the two- they would certainly get on each other's nerves. Chance of the Thief being a bit much, as they tend to be.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I feel Kismessitude would be the healthiest relationship between the two. Bit simple, I know, but I just can't seem them working in redrom.

(note that I could be wrong- look at the Meowrails, for example. I wouldn't have predicted them beong moirails.)

Haiiiii can you analyze Maid of Void??

maids create their aspect/create through their aspect. as we see with in cannon examples of maids, aradia (the maid of time) after going god-tier stops bec noir before he gets the chance to kill her, aradia MADE time to stop him (but only temporarily). jane (the maid of life) is shown bringing dirk back after he dies. while porrim didnt reach god-tier, we can assume she made space or at least things related to it. void is about nothingness, secrets and a lack of presence.

so with this in mind; a maid of void creates void/creates through void.

i personally think maids of void are a bit more likely to be derse dreamers than prospit dreamers. (eg: aradia, roxy, equius and horuss being derse dreamers), but its a 60/40 chance tbh

maids of void are (metaphorically) made out of their aspect, kinda like saying someones "made of money". they're not actually made of money but they have so much of it they might as well be made of it.

Alright gang, this is the second request from this post, and I'm excited to get into it.

Furthest Fanfare

Maid of Void [one who serves and serves through emptiness, irrelevance, absence] + Seer of Space [one who knows and knows through space, creation, and passivity]

Furthest (farther then the rest; most far) + Fanfare (a flourish of trumpets or other similar instruments, used for military or ceremonial purposes, or music that conveys this impression; used in announcing the arrival of someone important)

So the Maid and the Seer kind of counter each other with this combo, as any Void that is known is simply Space, and the Seer is all about knowing, but the Maid is all about keeping the Void unknown. But that's what makes it interesting!

The Maid may or may not be in contact with the Noble Circle of Horrorterrors depending on the session, and if it is the case, then the Seer would be able to serve as a more direct connection between the Furthest Ring and the Maid who serves it, as Seers are generally a guiding hand in Fraymotifs. The Maid, with direct access to the NCHT, could then exert some of the powers granted therein, and attack the Target with heavy Voidy powers. More direct and violent than simply giving the awareness of the NCHT to the Target.

A note of caution:

As no Rage player (or Hope destroyer) is involved in Furthest Fanfare, there is no way to enter a Grimdark-state during its attack combo. However, those who try to Seer into the NCHT's business and those who are in communication with the NCHT are naturally susceptible to going completely off the deep end in every way. This is, like all Fraymotifs, mechanically a special attack, so it would have a beginning, attack sequence, and a resolution. I don't think that if you weren't Grimdark before, that you'd somehow end up Grimdark during or after. But this is cutting it close. The Horrorterrors are kind of huge deal. The Maid may have some resistance to that, as its kind of their whole deal, but I honestly am not sure about the Seer. Rose being a Seer of Light was able to scope out the knowledge of the Horrorterrors because Light is all about knowledge, but a Seer of Space would be able to See the Horrorterrors (and only a Seer of Void could pierce that further), and that's a whole other big deal entirely.

Forcing someone else to comprehend the Horrorterrors as the attack is one thing (as seen in the other request), but getting the NCHT to give you abilities directly is a separate matter. Furthest Fanfare wouldn't be your epic combo finisher just to spam on a boss like the Black King for the sake of DPS, this is a risky move that should not be used Lightly. This is Jack Noir levels of threat management.

That said, I don't know if every Maid of Void would be of use to the NCHT, but those that aren't would only be able to try to make the Target less existing through regular Void attacks, guided in accuracy by the Seer, so less powerful, but less dangerous. This might be one of those combos that has more than one Fraymotif, but I'm only going to cover each combo once, so I'll be documenting it as one.

Do feel free to mess around with it tho. Voidy stuff is categorically hard to define, and up to interpretation. I know not everyone wants to risk getting jiggy with the Horrorterrors, and that's totally chill.

Hello. I read the wiki page for horrorterrors, and I think grimdarkness might be some sort of condition you get upon hearting some sort of information that the human mind can't handle, similar to the "MAD" condition in the Mandela Catalogue webseries on youtube where unearthly beings whisper something to victims and give them knowledge that causes them to have a psychological breakdown. In this case, it gives you like goth magic and you speak in tongues. Just confirming/going over all of this because I was never totally sure what the hell grimdark was.

A Maid is someone who is bossed around with regards to their aspect until they take control and then decide how their aspect is used. Void would be the unknown, the literal negative space of the universe, and the meaningless or unimportant.

When Aradia was starting sgrub, the voices of the dead basically told her everything she needed to do to begin the game, and they described exactly what would happen and how it would happen. She was kind of bored and unfeeling, and just obeyed what the voices said to do because it was going to happen anyway. Once she god tiered, she started jumping around and deciding what to do and creating time loops and shit etc. I kind of don't remember very well lol. This is how the maid is supposed to seize power.

At the beginning, this maid would have someone or something that explains the rules of how void is supposed to work. They would also be ordered around and made to do work for void. This could be like erasing things from existence or sweeping things under the rug into the void behind the universe. It does seem to be an erasing-type job. This person would be instructed what knowledge to obscure or what information to devalue.

Eventually they would say fuck that and start doing whatever they want with void. They erase, they create voids wherever they want, they obscure whatever they want. And nobody tells them what to do.

You know what? This person might have some kind of moment between stages where they contact the horrorterrors themselves as one of the first things they DECIDE to do themselves. Horrorterrors are associated with void, so they could for some reason be like "you know what? I'm calling them myself." And then like with the power they receive from going grimdark and the forbidden knowledge they learn could cause them to like embrace control for themselves.

Idk how you turn un-grimdark (if you even want to do that) because Rose did it by dying and her dream self took over. Jade was grimbark for a while but that was because she was under mind control and as soon as that stopped she went back to normal. You would have to invent a way to un-grimdark yourself. I would suggest god tiering might reverse it because you gain back control over your image and identity once you go god tier.

Maid of Void

Hey all, sorry for kind of slowing down on the class + aspect stuff. A few things happened such as my fixation sort of died out for a bit, plus the real world got pretty busy for me. However, I had an ask requesting me to do the Maid of Void so figured I would knock it out. 

The Maid class to me is the active maintenance / protection class, they are going to use their aspect to protect others or they are going to protect their aspect in some fashion. The active nature of the class comes from the fact they are going to be direct with whatever action they do and tend to be able to do things on their own without needing other characters involved in a big chain reaction to the best of their abilities. The personality traits of the Maid seem to be someone who has some kind of conflict going on which could potentially let other people see them as a bit of a door mat. However, these characters will eventually stand up for themselves and not tolerate being stepped on for too long. 

The Void aspect to me is going to be what isn’t known, it is secrecy, things that are hidden, it can be nothing but in the context of Homestuck even ‘nothing’ is something. We are shown that more active void powers involve invisibility where more passive void powers come from being naturally obscured from other people. This comes in the form of contents of Rose’s book being blurred out due to Equius’s (a void player) blood being spilled over important parts of the book. 

The Maid of Void is a fairly straight forward class as they are the ones who are going to use the aspect of void to protect themselves or allies, or they are going to do things which protect the aspect of void itself. A Maid of Void could create an invisible barrier that prevents themselves and everyone else in the session from being seen just as much as they could protect information from leaking out by securing it’s status of being ‘unknown’. A Maid of Void is probably the best person to hold important information that is meant to be secretive because they are not going to spill out anything related to it. 

There are a lot of ‘small’ things a Maid of Void could do throughout their journey which would feel maid of void-ish. They could write down everything in a journal but use a special invisible ink which only they know the means of how to read through. They could have some grand mission which requires them to make the entire session obscure from any outside forces, with similar stakes to Jade moving planets and John removing the oil.  

I think the Maid of Void could also do ‘voidy’ things to opposing forces in the same way Aradia did ‘time’ things to Jack. What better way to get rid of a threat than to remove it from existence? It maintains the aspect of void and can be used to protect the Maid and their allies. Making someone disappear is pretty much their main offensive strategy afterall.
