volume 4 has this running gag about an outbreak of (non-vertical-moncione) crows happening near the school which resulted in multiple depictions of mai holding one across nichijou media. i think that's fun idk what she's thinking but that's a cool bird she has there. almost makes her look like a witch with her familiar.. 👀

btw the bird in the bg is supposed to be the dove from ep 13 bc i could not leave a single stone unturned i am normal :)
