It's not their thousand dollars silk kimonos or million dollars obi-jewelry that drop your jaw. It's the intense aura that made us barely hold our camera still while they are passing by . Maiko Tomitsuyu during her Misedashi, the day when she debuts and officially joins the Geisha community. Here, her Okaa-san and her Maiko sister, Tomitae-san look over her beautiful regalia. Other very important people were present on this very important day, including some family members outside of her okiya family. Tomitsuyu is one of only a few Geisha and Maiko who are fluent in English. She debuted on August 1st of 2013 and has instantly become my favorite Maiko, Maiko Ichiteru-san holding a close second place in my heart ^^
