the thing with sweetheart!reader is EVERYONE thinks she’s completely mindless all the time (she’s ditzy, bubbly and just whimsy! it’s so not her fault) but actually her mind is SO LOUD all the time - she’s an anxious girl and she overthinks a lot despite her unearned confidence
but with mattheo, he makes her feel so okay and he makes her mind so quiet. when she’s with him, she babbles nonsense without caring if she’s being interesting enough - because mattheo finds everything she says interesting <3
also i imagine that mattheo leads sweetheart!reader by the hand a lot to go places, so she just continues her ramble on how she “saw a black cat that looked just like you, mattheo!” while he yanks her away from moving traffic and weaves her around the busy hallways. she giggles when she nearly knocks into something sharp while mattheo feels his hair turning white. she pouts when he scolds her then laughs as she tells him “but you wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me, would you, matty?” and he rolls his eyes but he melts for her and they both know he really wouldn’t.
