I have recently come to the conclusion that I've got a wider knowledge gap concerning romantic content than is compatible with normal parameters of your average critic

Like I just didn't vibe with the scene yk?

So I have a diverse knowledge base when it comes to fictional media with a heaping content of dead bodies, but not for the kissing and smooching

When I hear misogyny in the same sentence as whatever problematic fiction has breached containment this time, I think first about the love interest for the male lead being a paragon of virtue and symbolism of everything good, like Joan of arc or virgin Mary, is the prime example of dehumanizing tropes of women

People educated within the proper context are fuming about bathing suit armor and other various sexually provocative costume choices

I don't consume enough triggering content with women doing demeaning things to actually have an issue with puritan pearl clutching

I was thinking how I would probably recommend 999 and Lupin III second series as the best anime, for the storytelling style

And then I had a horrible premonition flashback about how stoooopid people would have a field day bitching about fujiko chan

Like if you can't handle a little outdated sexism [against all genders], I definitely don't recommend anime in the first place

But that aside a girl being not beholden to settling down or falling in love and growing a conscience is a special treat we still rarely get, thank you?

Like name me one supporting lady in fiction, who isn't dead or tragic damsel that is also a household name.
