Trial and Error (Betrayal & Order)
She'd agreed to this. That's what Betrayal kept reminding herself. She'd agreed to help Order centuries ago with discovering who was responsible for humans knowing about the gods and having weapons that could hurt them. And with the hunters having attacked Order within the palace itself, they were redoubling their efforts to figure out what was going on--and now Vengeance and Trust were involved.
One mistake so long ago had spiraled into something that she had no control over. All she wanted to do was go back and fix everything, change what she'd done so that it never happened. And yet, here she was going to meet Order in one of the rarely used rooms in the palace that had been turned into a base of sorts to help him sift through information that would inevitably lead them to her. Yes, she could hide the information, but she was tired of hiding, tired of lying to the people she cared about, tired of putting them in danger. Her guilt was beginning to overwhelm her, and it took everything within her not to go to Destroyer and confess what she'd done and ask him to kill her permanently.
Walking into the room, she went over to the table where Order was looking through a thick text. "So, where are we? What do we know?"
