Spinning wheel maintenance day, my first one since getting this wheel in 2021. So been long overdue, finally got around to it!

Wood is cleaned and repolished.

Joints are cleaned, derusted, and regreased.

Trialling a new lubricant.

Hands are very very sore 😭 next time, need some alternate tools for holding things.

Nearly two hours down and the withdrawals are setting in. I need my ghoulcy smut, where is my ghoulcy smut. Oh ye of monster fucker tendencies, thou must have patience.

Do the toys get breaks? And by breaks maybe like not a few hours.... Kinda like a short day off or something like that?

They do! Every month, the robots are required to go under maintenance which will last 2-4 days depending on the casualties they've received from working, this does mean that the human staff are required to work double time since the robots are on break. They've 'creatively' named it Maintenance Day. During the maintenance, the toys are able to recuperate and get repaired by the staff, they stay at a secluded area in the Factory that Poppy likes to call 'The Unhinged Zone' for a somewhat good reason. There, the toys are able to actually take a break and catch up with others, they chit-chat, play games, and do the wackiest activities known to mankind, and sometimes gossip. They tend to be a bit more vocal about swear words, without kids constantly surrounding them, especially Hoppy and Catnap.

Once the maintenance is over, they'll return to their original stations and continue their work as normal.

Nearly three hours in, I can taste colours, I've taken to watching Broke Back Mountain and I find my eyes wandering to the dusty bookshelf where my long neglected books languish. I just now remembered I have a collection of recipe books that I inherited from my great grandma, I wonder....

Nearing four hours into ao3 being down, I am sufficiently distracted for now. I'm mad as shit at Ennis and Jack for cheating on their wives though.

Ao3 will be going down soon, which sucks for me because it will be down during the hours I'm usually most active.
