"Let's start loving life, shall we? Yes, I know the house is messy. I know there are a bunch of things to get done. I know there are so many dishes you need to clean, the laundry to fold, to declutter the desk. I know it all. But take a step back and look - this is your life. It's beautiful and YOU get to fix it, decorate it, make it beautiful. You get to look so poetic while doing all your chores. The joys of cooking in a clean kitchen, the bliss of enjoying a clean bedroom with clean sheets. It's.. all just so worth it. Why hate the process? This isn't going to go away. I still remember one of my 4 year old students' once said to me "Miss Maira, I hate nap time but whether I like it or not it's going to be Naptime soon, I think I'll love to sleep today" I looked at this kid and smiled. So yeah, whether you like it or not, you are going to have these chores all your life. Why not make it very enjoyable - just for you!" - Maira Muhammad

"I hate this silence. This silence that craves something - some work, some movement, some.. chaos. I hate it when I cannot sit in silence.  The more I try to fight myself to calm myself down, the chaotic it gets. But I think that's what I need the most. Silence. To hear all my problems - to come "face-to-face" with myself, to understand and LISTEN what is troubling my soul. I have been running away from confronting myself for far too long.

No matter how difficult it is, today I shall sit with myself - no white noise in the background, no distractions, no reading away - none of that. It is just going to be me and my thoughts and just listen to what bothers me. I might break down and that is okay. I might find there may be situations that are bothering me which I didn't even realize had I not done this. My concerns may surprise me. But, at the end of it - I must remember, Allah is with me. He is all-aware and my only source of comfort." - Maira Muhammad
