“100 dias para enamorarse” (100 days to fall in love) is an Argentine telenovela that presents, among other characters, two teenagers who are questioning their sexuality and gender identity. And they like eachother. On one hand we have Juani, who doesn’t feel very comfortable with her body (we still do not know if she is a trans boy, not binary, or a lesbian, so that’s why I refer to her as “she”) but she is very sure that she likes girls. On the other side we have Emma, ​​a girl who is not sure if she likes girls, boys, or both. The two are discovering and questioning themselves. Here in Argentina we are quite advanced with the laws (we were one of the first countries to legalize same-sex marriage, in 2010) but with respect to the mentality of society … well, it is something that we are still working on. So the fact that these types of subjects appear on television makes me really, really, really happy and proud, because that means we are making progress.
