bawling
Theo and Wifies have very different ways of trying to protect Parrot. One healthier than the other.
Wifies traps. He cages. He smothers Parrot in soft bedding in hopes that Parrot can remain safe and sound, while ignoring what Parrot actually wants. He has revolved his whole life around Parrot, that he would most definitely not want to continue playing on the server if Parrot wasn’t on there as well. Wifies does not have any other relationships with any other people. Much like how Parrot in season one sees people in black and white morality, Wifies sees and puts Parrot on a high pedestal. They both didn’t see people as people, and for Wifies Parrot was an ideal. A person he looks up to and never saw any of his flaws. And even when Parrot actually show those flaws Wifies would enable him and wouldn’t point them out to him, but instead continue to be by his side despite it, even if Parrot was becoming worse.
Theo on the other hand protects. A shield. He treats Parrot like a person instead of an ideal, and he would call him out in his behaviour. He would not stand Parrot’s bullsh!t and he would tell him so. And by doing so it allows Parrot the room to grow and be challenged on his own beliefs, when he has never been challenged before by Wifies. Theo never tell Parrot to stop putting himself into danger, because Theo understands that helping others is what makes Parrot happy and be fulfilled, as well as him acting as Parrot’s armour. And thus he would help him on his quest. Theo has his own reasons for being on the server, and he has his own life outside of his relationship with Parrot. They balance each other out.
One is trapped in stagnation. The other is thriving and changing. One is extremely codependent (mostly one-sided) while the other have them grow alongside one another as individuals.
